Confession.

I bought this buck because apparently I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to pretty udders.

His sire? Incredible.

His dam? Her udder makes me want to frame photos of it.

Then he came out chocolate.

Behind all the humor, this is exactly the kind of herd sire we’re looking for. The kind that’s backed by generations of correctness and mammary strength, exceptional parents, and the potential to make every doe he touches just a little bit better.

Some bucks are nice to own.

Some have the potential to change a breeding program.

Meet LoneFeather HRH Eloise.

Every breeder has that kid you see on someone”s social media.

The one you admire from afar. The one you quietly hope might somehow find her way to your farm one day, even though you never really expect it to happen.

For me, that’s Eloise.

Her pedigree reads like a wish list. Sired by *B Drewem TRD His Royal Highness and out of the incredible FeatherNScale Mon Mothma, Eloise represents generations of intentional breeding by programs that have consistently produced beautiful, functional dairy goats.

But what drew me to Eloise wasn’t just the names behind her.

It was the opportunity to bring home a doe from a herd I’ve admired for years—one that embodies the kind of structure, dairy strength, and consistency we’re working to build at Wild Run. She isn’t here simply because of an impressive pedigree. She’s here because we believe she has the potential to become an important part of our herd’s future.

There are goats you’re excited to own…

…and then there are the ones you have to pinch yourself over.

Eloise is definitely one of those, even though I say that a lot and mean it.

To Carrissa (and yes, you too Colin) at Lone Feather Farm, thank you for trusting us with such a special young doe. We promise she’ll have every opportunity to become everything she’s capable of, and we can’t wait to watch her story unfold with us.

Meet *B Haymaker Farm O Loyal Elk.

Every breeding season begins with a question:

What does the next generation of Wild Run look like?

That question led us to Loki.

When Carianne at Granite Ledge Nigerian Dwarf Goats brought home two exceptional young bucks last year from Stacey at Haymaker Farm, she had the enviable problem of deciding which one to keep. Fortunately for us, that decision and a conversation at the Wicked Early show opened the door for Loki to find his way here.

His pedigree is absolutely stuffed with some of the best herds in the country, IMHO.

A herd sire should never be an impulse purchase. He should represent your vision for the future, your progress.

Loki does exactly that for us.

Thank you, Carianne, for trusting us with this wonderful addition, and thank you, Stacey, for continuing to produce the kind of genetics that challenge all of us to keep striving for better.

We’re honored to have Loki as part of Wild Run, and excited to see the next generation he helps create.

Meet Prince Well Farm GF Pippin.

Every once in a while, a pedigree tells a story.

Not because of one famous name, but because of generations of thoughtful breeding decisions made by breeders with a shared vision of what a Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat should be.

Pippin’s pedigree brings together some of the programs we’ve admired for years: Herds that have earned their reputations by producing structurally correct, productive dairy goats generation after generation.

Her sire, Novella Farm AG Gold Finch, is a son of Moon Station Aberama Gold, a finished champion backed by the exceptional Little Tots Estate Saturn (EEEE 92). On her dam’s side, Prince Well Farm Appletini traces to Short N’ Sweet Martini and FeatherNScale Strawberry Pie, a daughter of the influential Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk, whose impact on the Nigerian Dwarf breed speaks for itself.

We didn’t choose Pippin because of one impressive name or one championship. We chose her because she represents generations of breeders making intentional decisions to improve the breed. The consistency behind her pedigree, the strength of her lines, and the programs that stand behind her all align with the direction we’re building at Wild Run.

Every breeder can point to a few people who have truly helped shape their program. For us, that’s Hannah and Josh at Prince Well Farm. They started as breeders we admired, became trusted mentors, and are now friends we’re grateful to have. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, believing in what we’re building, and trusting us with animals like Pippin. ❤️

Let’s get this out of the way…

I wasn’t buying any goats this year. 😅

Somehow, though, I’m now four introductions behind, with one more likely arriving after Nationals. It’s just been a busy season for everyone.

When I’m not at work, I’m playing catch-up with spring herd maintenance, the garden, flowers, and everything else that comes with this time of year. So no, these introductions aren’t the polished, posed photos I had imagined—but let’s be honest… there’s plenty of time for that. They literally live here. 😂

Right now we’re focusing on the important part: letting everyone settle in, bond with the herd, and get comfortable with us.

Thank you for being patient while life does what life does.

Now… let’s meet the newest members of Wild Run. 🐐

Her dam has zero shame improving on herself and every kid that’s come from her is better than she is. We love a queen like that! Belly is quiet, reserved, and calm- just like her dam.

She’s up to date on CD&T. Clean tested herd May 2025, awaiting this years updated results. Minot, ME 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

The last of our wethers are pending pickup. 🎉🎉

We do have two adult does looking for a pet home, both currently in milk, they should not be bred again. Both very friendly, up to date on CDT, disbudded.

Two new friends hit the barn today!!! We’ve been waiting to bring them home since they were still wet.

We’re super grateful to our dear friends at Lone Feather Farm for allowing us to bring these fancy kids home. It’s always so humbling to be trusted with such lovely additions.

Going to do my best to make this the weekend of actual introductions, but this heat and my actual job that keeps this job fed, have kept me busy. And these are big additions for our small farm, so I have a lot to put together!🤞🏻🤞🏻
