She told me at the start of our consultation: “I’m not really a cake person.”

Her guests ate every last crumb.

Sarah came to Plumeria after two disappointing tastings at other bakeries. She was ready to just order something simple and move on.

But her fiancé — who grew up on his grandmother’s homemade cakes — kept saying: “I feel like we should try one more place.”

So they came in.

Sarah tasted my Vanilla pound cake with strawberry filling first. Then Ch*****ne Orange. Then the Salted Caramel. Then our Chocolate — the cake that started my whole business.

Halfway through the third flavor, she set down her fork.

“Okay. I get it now. THIS is what wedding cake should taste like.”

Her coordinator texted me the day after the wedding:

“The cake was GONE. Every tier, every slice, completely devoured. Guests were asking if we had more. I’ve never seen that happen before.”

Sarah later wrote: “I spent months saying I didn’t care about cake. Turns out I just hadn’t tasted cake worth caring about.”

Let’s be real. If you’re not gonna serve cake to the guests, don’t eat it in front of them. Make a new tradition and take photos with whatever you’re serving. These are supposed to be the most important people in your life…treat them like it!

This is just IMO. I’ve only made over 700 wedding cakes, so what do I know? I just work here.

BTW, if the Churro Saber Ceremony is the new hot trend in weddings, I want all the credit. 😂

Pet figurines on wedding cakes are having a major moment right now, and honestly? I’m here for it.

From golden retrievers perched on elegant buttercream to black labs climbing a Lambeth-style masterpiece — couples are finding the sweetest ways to include the family members who didn’t make the guest list.

I don’t make the figurines myself, but I absolutely love incorporating them into a design. Your cake, your dog, your vision.

When a client comes in with “tropical flowers and pirate cake” energy, you don’t ask questions. You just start sculpting a parrot out of cereal treats.

This two-tier celebration cake had it all — fondant hibiscus pattern, 3D bamboo, edible treasure, a pirate flag, and a life-size macaw perched on top like he owns the place. (He does.)

This is what happens when a client trusts the process and lets the artist run with it. Honestly one of my favorite cakes I’ve made this year.

The inside? Pound cake, obviously. Because a cake this dramatic better taste as good as it looks.

This is the part nobody sees. But it’s why the cake looks — and tastes — the way it does

Most people only see the finished cake.
The moment it’s wheeled out. The cake cutting. The photo.
 
But there are hours that happen before that moment.
 
Layers baked fresh — never frozen, never made days in advance. Crumb coat set in the fridge. Buttercream smoothed until it’s exactly right. Every detail placed with intention.
 
I take 2–3 cakes per weekend. Not because that’s all I could book, but because that’s what it takes to do this properly.
 
This isn’t a high-volume production kitchen.
 
It’s a studio.
 
And every cake that leaves here is made like it matters — because it does.
 
It’s someone’s wedding day.
 
That never gets routine. ❤️🍰
