Let me take a moment to introduce you to any southern beekeeper's (ie...my husband) arch enemy. This is , and I quote, "the damnable, detestible small hive beetle" My son was informed by the head beek yesterday that " all hive beetles go to hell" lol. I don't know if they GO to hell....but I do wonder if that's not where they CAME from!

Well looks like we're through extracting for the season! Now time for a little R &R...Well...maybe after The head beek and apprentice #1 are finished with splits this morning. We definatly did not want a repeat of last months queen grafts, so he hurried on over to get those queen cells out before one hatched and reeked havok! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Happy Saturday Folks! Boy it's a scorcher here in good ole' south Mississippi! But....we'll be braving the heat to celebrate! This evening, HBF will be in Leakesville at the Fourth of July Festival.
