Hey pumpkin lovers! We are keeping our pumpkins in the barn for the next couple days and nights to keep them warm through this cold spell. If you would like to come out and purchase Monday or Tuesday of this week, give a call or text or message and we will open the barn for you. Otherwise, we will have our normal hours Wednesday through Sunday! We sure have some beauties! Look forward to seeing you all!
And also thank you so much Campbell Kia of Missoula for supporting local farms! They just swung by and bought some huge pumpkins! Woo hoo!!

October News! Volunteer tomorrow! Come and enjoy this wonderful weather and buy some pumpkins, squash, jam, and elderberry syrup! OCTOBER NEWS!! (4 items of interest) 🎃

1. Volunteer tomorrow!! 🪏
Oct. 8, 5-7:30pm
Just a reminder about tomorrow’s volunteer event! The weather looks to be absolutely gorgeous! Come on over 5 to 7:30 PM!! (Even if you just have an hour, we could use the help.)
We will be planting the last of the blueberries!
We will provide Tagliare sandwiches as a thank you and Homemade local salad! Thank you!!!

2. New cash box.
We have a new payment box. Due to a young man who cleaned out our cash box a couple of times this summer, we decided we must secure our payment box. Consequently, we cannot offer change. Sorry!
It is now located on the left-hand side of the Farm Stand as you’re looking in. It’s bright orange and secured to the side of the stand. Below is a picture! Or you can Venmo!

3. Pumpkins, squash, homemade jams, and Elderberry syrup for sale! 🎃
We have incredible pumpkins and squash for sale!! Swing on by and see the wide variety.
Something for everyone!
Huge monsters all the way down to itty-bitty.
All pumpkins pre-priced. Squash are a dollar a pound. There is a scale in the Farm Stand or another couple placed by the pumpkins. We own a turn of the century wooden scale. You can weigh your pumpkin for fun!

Two announcements!
1. We are pulling the pumpkins in from the field and putting them near the Farm Stand! So swing on by and pick out your pumpkins and squash! We still have a wonderful variety for you to choose from and the weather is looking gorgeous all week!

2. We are running another volunteer day! Because the weather is so gorgeous (and we never know how long that will last ) we are inviting you all to come this October 8, Thursday, five to 7:30 PM. We will provide dinner so please RSVP so we get enough food! Also, let us know if you have any special food needs .
The last volunteer event was so successful and incredibly enjoyable! There is something really lovely about a group of community members coming together and volunteering time and hard work…that bonds a group. The magic definitely was not lost on us and we are so grateful! Since that event, we planted 100 more blueberries and have realized, well, we could really use one more amazing volunteer day to help us finish our planting before the cold weather sets in. With many hands, we are able to accomplish so much!
Thanks to Greg, it’s a very well organized event, meaning a lot of work can happen in a very short amount of time!! Planting blueberries does not require a whole lot of digging, but we do end up moving a lot of woody materials. So bring your gloves!

We will have a celebratory dinner as a thank you! Local salads, and sandwiches most likely.

We have had a couple days of a lot of people filling up wagons with pumpkins, but the patch is still pretty loaded. See you later today from 4-7 p.m. and tomorrow from 11-2. Feel free to bring a blanket for hanging out, a wagon to transport your haul (we have a few), and enjoy beautiful fall air!

Hi!!!
We have been getting such good turnout of people coming to our events in the field that we want to encourage everyone who normally waits until later in October to come this weekend! We have incredible pumpkins and we wouldn’t want you to miss out!

It’s still and keeping with our relaxed, authentic Red Hen Farm atmosphere you just get to come out to the fields and see where these beauties are grown!
