Blueberries are one of the most rewarding plants you can grow—but they're a little picky! If your bushes aren't thriving, one of these common mistakes could be the reason.

✅ Keep your soil acidic (pH 4.5–5.5)
✅ Plant in well-draining soil
✅ Water consistently—don't let the roots dry out
✅ Plant at the correct depth
✅ Grow two compatible varieties for better pollination and bigger harvests
✅ Fertilize lightly—more isn't always better!

ICONIC INDIANA TREES - SYCAMORE: The American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) is one of the most recognizable and iconic trees on the Indiana landscape. Though it is not our state tree - that would be the tulip tree - the species is well-loved by Hoosiers for its large size, soaring heights, and long lives. Sycamores are easy to spot because of their smooth, stark white bark towards the top of each tree. Bark further down the trunk is brown, flaky, and peeling.

This is absolutely amazing in coffee!

Homemade Hickory Nut Milk

Ingredients

* 1 cup shelled hickory nuts
* 4 cups cold water
* 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
* Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Soak the nuts in water overnight (8–12 hours).
2. Drain and rinse.
3. Add the nuts and 4 cups of fresh water to a blender.
4. Blend on high for 2–3 minutes until very smooth.
5. Strain through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or a fine-mesh strainer.
6. Stir in the maple syrup, vanilla, and salt if desired.
7. Refrigerate in a sealed jar for up to 4–5 days. Shake well before using.

Don’t throw away the pulp!
You can dry it and add it to muffins, pancakes, granola, or oatmeal.

Which Oak Tree Is Right for You?

Not all oak trees are the same! Each has its own strengths depending on your yard, soil, and what you’re looking for.

Here’s a quick guide to some of the oaks we have available:

🌳 Red Oak – Fast-growing, beautiful red fall color, excellent shade tree.

🤍 White Oak – A long-lived classic with strong branches and gorgeous fall color. Great for large landscapes.

🖤 Black Oak – Tough native oak with rich fall colors and excellent wildlife value.

🌰 Sawtooth Oak – One of the fastest oak growers. Produces acorns at a young age, making it a favorite for attracting deer and other wildlife.

🍂 Nuttall Oak – Fast-growing with brilliant red fall color. Tolerates wet soils better than many oaks.

💧 Swamp White Oak – Thrives in moist ground but adapts well to average soils. Beautiful peeling bark and dependable shade.
