We need to settle something…

People come to Double T Family Farm saying,
“We’re just going to look.”

Thirty minutes later they’re loading trees into the truck like they’re contestants on a landscaping game show. 🌳😂

It starts with…
🌿 “Maybe just one shrub.”

Then…
🌳 “Well… we DO need some privacy.”

Then…
🍎 “I’ve always wanted an apple tree.”

Then…
🍈 “Wait… you can grow FIGS in Indiana?!”

Next thing you know…
💳 “Honey… don’t ask. Just help me load these.”

We’re not saying our trees are addictive… but we’ve yet to see anyone leave with less than they planned. 😆

Did you know you can grow delicious figs right here in Southern Indiana?

The Chicago Hardy Fig is one of the toughest fig varieties available. It produces sweet, honey-berry flavored fruit with beautiful strawberry-pink flesh that’s perfect for fresh eating, baking, jams, or drying.

🍈 Fruit Size: Medium, typically 1½–2 inches long and weighing about 1–2 ounces each.

🌳 Mature Size: 10–15 feet tall × 9–12 feet wide (or easily maintained at 6–8 feet with annual pruning)

✅ Self-pollinating
✅ Cold hardy
✅ Produces fruit on new growth
✅ Loves full sun
✅ Great in the ground or in a large container

🌧️ Evening at Double T Family Farm 🌳🐦

The skies are getting darker, and it looks like Mother Nature is about to give us a good soaking. 🌧️

Our hummingbirds have been busy filling up before they head for shelter, and if you’ve been thinking about planting a tree or shrub, this rain is just about the best gift you could ask for. A slow summer rain helps new plants settle in, encourages strong root growth, and takes some of the work out of watering.

Whether you’re looking for shade trees, privacy trees, flowering shrubs, fruit trees, or something unique for your landscape, we’d love to help you find the right fit.
