Working cows as a family means everyone has a job, One’s pushing cattle, one’s opening gates, one’s chasing the one cow that missed the memo, and someone is definitely giving “helpful” advice in the form of yelling. There are arguments over who has the better horse and comments about not paying attention and one’s intellectual prowess. It’s a lot of dust and heat, and maybe some laughter. By the end of the day, the cows are worked, the horses are sweaty, and we’ve made a few more memories together.
There are easier ways to spend a day, but none we’d rather be doing as a family.
