The Fresh Pack season is getting closer, and there is a lot happening behind the scenes before the first tomatoes arrive.

One thing you might see and hear around the cannery this time of year is water can testing. Teams across Production run cans filled with water through the lines as they test equipment throughout the facility. The process allows teams to check, inspect, and recheck many different areas to make sure everything is operating properly and ready for the season ahead. Then the cans are recycled and the water reclaimed, so nothing goes to waste.

Behind every test run are knowledgeable team members checking, adjusting, troubleshooting, and working together to prepare for the Fresh Pack season. Their efforts are critical to help ensure the cannery is ready when the first tomatoes arrive.

May was a month of preparation, growth, and appreciation for the people who make this work possible.

We welcomed back seasonal employees during registration, continued growing our team for the 2026 Fresh Pack season, and kept our focus on the important work ahead.

We also had the chance to celebrate a special milestone: Matt’s promotion to Regional Sales Manager. His leadership, dedication, and care for our customers are a great reflection of the people who help move Stanislaus forward.

As July gets closer, the excitement is building. Fresh Pack is one of the most important times of the year for us, and we’re grateful for every person who helps make it happen.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. The freedoms we enjoy today were made possible through their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness.

We also hold close in our hearts the families, friends, and loved ones who continue to carry that sacrifice with them, including members of our own Stanislaus and restaurant families. Their loss, strength, and unwavering love for those who served should never be forgotten.

Please join us in congratulating Matt Neal on his promotion to Regional Sales Manager!
Since joining Stanislaus Food Products in 2022, Matthew has made a strong impact through his leadership, training, and dedication in the field. His background in restaurant operations, foodservice, and business development has helped him build strong relationships and support growth across his markets.

Most recently serving in the Hybrid Trainer role, Matthew played an important part in supporting and developing Brokers and Business Development Representatives across the team.

April was a month of building momentum across our teams. From connecting with students at Cal Poly and UC Davis to highlighting the people behind our work, it was a month that brought both new opportunities and continued focus on our teams.

We also had moments to come together, from our Wellness Fair to weekly safety tailgates, along with preparing to welcome our seasonal employees back for Fresh Pack. Each of these moments plays a part in getting us ready for the season ahead.

Ever wondered how our products make it into independent restaurants?

Our Stanislaus and Corto sales team is out in the field every day, connecting directly with chefs and restaurant owners across the US, Canada, and in Mexico.

From time spent in kitchens to conversations around flavor and quality, they are building relationships and introducing what we do in a hands-on way. Through tastings and time with chefs, they help bring our products to life beyond the label.

It’s a role that takes confidence, curiosity, and a real passion for supporting independent restaurants. It’s also a chance to learn something new every day. It’s a part of the business you may not always see, but it plays a big role in keeping our products moving and our relationships strong.

Every Monday, our maintenance team comes together for Safety Tailgate Meetings led by our Safety Team. These sessions serve as refresher trainings and are an important part of keeping everyone prepared for the work ahead.

This week’s training brought the team together for a classroom-style session, with group discussion and shared experiences. It was great to see the engagement, team members asking questions, contributing, and learning from one another.

As we continue our spring refresh leading into our Fresh Pack season, these moments help make sure everyone is ready to do their work safely and confidently throughout the season.
