We are excited to announce our pours for Crafted 1979 small batch event tomorrow.
A collaboration with Beer, Barrel, Basement, a beer 18 months in the making.
The barrel: originally a Journeyman barrel, the second fill consisted of Hailstorm Vlad vs Zombie vs Shark. It made a delicious beer. But BBB decided that barrel still had some magic to give. They filled it with High West and aged it for a year. That bourbon was eventually a BBB offering.
But why stop there? That barrel has so much flavor. We decided to use it for this beer.
The beer: a big bold stout made with a hybrid of clone recipes from Bourbon County and Angry chair. The end result is a complex bold beauty.
BBB Nightmare: we handed a sixtel over to the best adjunctist we know, the mastermind behind BBB, Brian Pautsch. He did his wizardry and flavored one keg with vanilla, pecans and caramel. Tamed sweetness, heavy vanilla and hints of caramel and pecan.
MFer Nightmare: if you know MFer, you know we love straight barrel forward non-adjusted stouts. And that’s exactly what this is. Barrel. Beer. Beautiful.
Both beers spent the same amount of time in the barrel. Both are the end result of a lot of love and attention.
We hope you can join us tomorrow and have a pour!
