We get asked all the time…
WHY a Food Truck Park?!
How did Emerald Social even come about?
It started with a dream (and a coffee trailer).
We launched our business in late 2023 with a simple goal — bring great coffee and community together. After finding in Nashville, we put a deposit down… and in March 2024 we picked up our beauty — the Emerald Cup Coffee trailer.
And away we went.
Farmers markets. Town events. Baseball games galore. Early mornings. Long days. So much support from this community.
But as we traveled from event to event, one thought kept coming up…
What if we had a permanent home?
What if there was a place where multiple food trucks could gather?
Where families could hang out.
Where you could grab a craft beer, a smashburger, a pizza, tacos, coffee — all in one place?
So in summer 2024, we started researching Food Truck Parks across the country. We met with Starr Design, who has experience designing successful food truck parks, and began dreaming bigger. Started talking with Gio from .
In April 2025, we pitched the vision to the Village of Mokena.
In October 2025, we received final board approval.
And shortly after… we purchased land at 10020 W. 191st Street.
And just like that — Emerald Social | Taps & Trucks was born.
This isn’t just a food truck park.
It’s a gathering place.
It’s a backyard for the community.
It’s a permanent home for Emerald Cup Coffee that started it all.
We cannot wait to bring this vision to life. ☘️
