The rest of our lambs all arrived on the same day this week, bringing lambing to an exciting close for the year! All of our ewes had twins, so we added 12 to the flock.

Three years and three mills later, we're finally getting our yarn with much more to come! Skilled trades people are rare these days, and harder yet is to find ones who choose to muscle through the stress of working in industries that don't have the support to meet the demand. Working two trade jobs that struggle with similar realities makes me tell every young person I meet to get into skilled labor jobs. Opportunity abounds! I am so thankful for and the incredible work she's doing out here in the Northwest. Love on a farmer, rancher, butcher, miller, framer etc if you know one ❤️

Shearing is done for the year! We're already extremely excited for all those lamb fleece next year, which will double our shearing load 😀
Penny and I also got to go shear a few sheep that were rescued out of a neglect situation in a nearby town, which was hard work but very rewarding. Next up, a visit to the mills we use and launching our website with all of our beautiful wooly products.

And with a final set of twins, we finished our first lambing season yesterday! These pure bred Fine Fleeced Shetlands are loving the chaotic gang of lambs ruling over the farm.

Lots of births and birthdays this week at the farm! Rosemary gave us twins, a boy and girl, and Josephine brought the cutest little girl onto the farm. Empress turned 9, and Tavish turned 10. It's been a week of celebrating the new and the old(er) and enjoying the beautiful spring weather (when it's not blowing a gale or violently hailing 😅).

Started lambing with twin boys! After 12 years of farming, I once again feel like a newbie, which is fun and a little nerve-wracking. Cicely and her two little FF Shetland/BWM crosses are doing well so far. The dogs are very excited to have babies on the farm again!
