Willamette Valley Melons

Willamette Valley Melons Using farming technology to produce quality flavor-rich melons and a lot of other veggies! Our mission is to Grow Stronger Communities.
(1)

We seek to accomplish this by bringing people closer to their food with our self-serve roadside produce stands open seasonally, and by bringing people out to the farm for fun and educational events. Willamette Valley Melons is the proud production division of Northwest Transplants, established by the Lucht family in 1990. Our farm is located just outside of Molalla, Oregon. By utilizing our advanc

ed farming techniques we grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. What makes our melons so great? We have selected the best varieties of seeded and seedless watermelons, and cantaloupe for optimal performance in the Willamette Valley. Using our specialized systems to manipulate the growing season, we are able to begin planting our melons in May and harvest in July, August, and September. Our melons offer a fresh, local option of only the highest quality. We select our melon varieties for flavor and texture, and pick to the peak of flavor so that our customers receive the highest quality eating experience.

Today we finished planting our famous Sugar Baby Watermelons! 🍉

We know as soon as the weather heats up, everyone is craving Watermelon. But great watermelon takes time. Our sugar babies spend the summer soaking up the sunshine and growing to perfection. So you’ll need to be a little patient…they won’t be on the stands until early August.

Trust us though…the wait is worth it! Comment if you’re already counting down the days like we are! 🍉❤️🍉

🍉 Help protect farms like ours.

At Willamette Valley Melons, our farm stands allows us to connect directly with our community — sharing the melons, pumpkins, and other products we grow, along with goods from neighboring farms.

Right now, a bill in the Oregon Legislature — HB 4153A (the Farm Store bill) — is headed to a vote in the Senate.

This bill helps clarify what farms can sell at on-farm stores so farmers can promote and sell products grown on our farms and neighboring farms without risking land-use penalties. For many family farms, these direct sales are essential to staying viable.

Farm stores connect customers directly to the source of their food and support local agriculture.

📞 Please take a moment today to call or email your Oregon Senator and ask them to support HB 4153A.

Your support helps keep farms like ours growing food and serving our communities.
