One whole month with our Lydia James! ๐Ÿค

I'm not entirely sure how an entire month has already passed since we welcomed our sweet girl into the world, but here we are!

Our hearts and hands have been especially full around the farm these last several weeks. Lydia is doing wonderfully and has already surpassed 12 pounds! She's our chunky little girl who loves to eat, and I feel like I've spent the majority of this last month nursing her and soaking up all the newborn snuggles.

Meanwhile, Mark has been doing a wonderful job keeping everything and everyone alive around the farm while I've been occupied with our newest addition.

Life certainly hasn't slowed down around here! We're getting ready for another goat breeding season, and we've planted a new front fence garden full of Wicked Sister roses that I'm especially excited to watch grow and fill in over the coming seasons. Our house is really feeling like home- more on that soon!

I've been a little less present here lately, but looking forward to sharing more of what we've been up to, but for now, I'm just enjoying this sweet season of life with our newest little farm girl. It's been a full month in just about every possible way, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Lydia James
She arrived fashionably late at 40w4d weighing 8 lbs 14.2 oz and 22 inches long.

After deciding to go home from the hospital the night before, My water broke while out getting a coffee at Senoia Coffee like a scene from a movie. She was born 5 hours later after a completely spontaneous delivery and 20 minutes of pushing.

I felt so supported and loved on during labor from both my doula and Husband. I'll never forget singing worship songs, praying and focusing on her arrival, my doula reminding me to relax, and Mark pouring water over me in the tub as I labored and moved instinctively. I felt the Lord telling me, "As you deliver her, I will deliver you...".

And oh has he, from being told I was anemic to my levels rising over night, navigating being GBS positive and pushing back against inductions and interventions... to her arriving so perfectly on her own time.

We are so thankful and blessed. Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out. We are so excited she's here, for where we're at with our home renovation and where we are headed as a family of six.

One season out the door and another already curing on the shelves. ๐Ÿ‚

Our Summer Collection is officially SOLD OUT! Thank you so much to everyone who ordered, shared, and continues to support this little business of mine. Every single order truly matters to our family, and I'm so grateful you chose to spend your money with us.

While Summer bars have been heading out the door, I've already been back in the soap room working on Fall.

The first Fall bars are curing now, and I'll also be bringing back some of our classic scents with the next restock. Everything needs a few weeks to cure before it's ready to head to your homes, so look for those bars to start becoming available in Mid September.

I'm excited to start sharing this year's Fall soaps with you soon. There's just something about making soap for Fall that makes me ready for cooler weather, even if Georgia hasn't gotten the memo yet. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you again for such a wonderful Summer season. Now, on to Fall!

When God opens a door, you go through it!

We found a contractor who met all the qualifications we needed to refinish our floors and, somehow, had an opening to start **today** between other already scheduled jobs.

So... we're refinishing the floors. ๐Ÿ˜…

Because of our previous lead and asbestos abatement, it makes the most sense to have the floors done before we paint. I've also really wanted to get this finished before Lydia arrives and before we start bringing furniture back downstairs.

Still, I have to shake my head a little at agreeing to a 5โ€“7 day project when I'm due in **11 days**.

The timing feels a little wild, but we're trusting God and the process. This is the last major piece of putting this house back together, outside of finishing the kitchen and bathrooms downstairs.

After nearly two years of rebuilding, we're getting so incredibly close to having our home back. And apparently we're going to use every last day before Lydia gets here to do it.

Before the drywall went up, we wanted to leave a little piece of our family behind.

We all signed one of the beams, wrote the date, and added "God Bless This Home." The kids signed their own names- except Connor who drew a flame, and since Lydia isn't here quite yet, we added a spot for her, too.

After nearly two years of rebuilding this 1860s farmhouse, it feels especially meaningful to see the walls finally going back up just weeks before we welcome another baby into our family.

Maybe someday, many years from now, someone will open these walls again and find our names. They won't know everything it took to get us here, but they'll know this home was deeply loved.

The wall portion has taken longer than anticipated- gosh It's really hard to find good help that will show up when they say they will... but it looks like the last portion of the walls- sanding everything down, will be done tomorrow.

Then we can clean up and starting moving a few things in while contemplating Trim/Molding/Door Size and Paint options.

I had planned to make a post about how grateful my family is for our Texas and Georgia communities ahead of the shower. Story telling, especially about family and gratitude is near and dear to my heart, BUT life happens.

I love documenting our life and sharing here through photography, as well as words. I was actually so immersed in the moment, that I didnt take a single photo. You know by that fact alone that it was an amazing event!

I cant thank my church family enough for hosting our shower. It was a dream come true and I was moved to tears multiple times. Our family and friends are second to none! Can't wait for our girl to get here in 3 weeks or less!
