Sometimes you get to make something really special and unique. This arrangement was created for a cosmetologist. Her friends brought me some of her tools; curling rods, clips, nail polish, eyelashes and wands. They wanted flowers to commemorate her life and their connection to her. I got creative and this was the result!

Spent yesterday afternoon planting out the first round ranunculus in the high tunnel. This starts the winter routine, aka winter calisthenics of venting the greenhouse multiple times a day to keep the daytime highs from getting too warm and closing up and covering the young plants so they don’t get too cold overnight.
Ever wonder why ranunculus are so expensive? This is one of the reasons. Another reason is that they take three months to bloom once they are planted out. They are a labor intensive flower!
They bring me much joy and many backaches but they are worth it for their unique and unmatched beauty.
