We wanted to remind everyone that while WE have retired and are no longer open, Mike and Erin are open for business! We adore them and encourage all of you to check out their page and the beautiful store they have. They are located approximately 4 miles south of us on 183, half mile from the lavender farm (also check them out, it’s beautiful).

Jim and I are enjoying a slower pace these days and want to thank everyone for spreading the word. We removed all signage but that hasn’t stopped some people from stopping. We have enjoyed having you all be a part of our lives. We hope you build a lifelong community with Sustainable Sanctuary and show them the same love and respect you have shown us.

Dear Valued Customers and Friends,

It is with mixed emotions that we share the news of our retirement and the closing of Smalls Fruit Farm. After much consideration, we have decided it is time to step away and begin a new chapter in our lives.

Smalls Fruit Farm has been a family legacy since 1894, and as the 5th generation owners, it has been our greatest honor to serve this community for so many years. The farm has been more than just a place of work for us—it has been our home, our passion, and a source of treasured memories.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who have supported us throughout the years. Whether you came to pick fruit with your families, shared stories over a basket of apples, or made Smalls Fruit Farm part of your traditions, your loyalty and friendship have meant the world to us.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, we look forward to cherishing the memories and spending more time with family. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey and for allowing us to be part of yours.

Last weekend for Honey Crisp pick your own.We will have them pre picked and many other varieties in shed. Apple cider available. Pumpkins everywhere for the picking. 712-646-2723

As many of you know, we have downsized to have more time with our family. Things will look a bit different this year. Please don't be deterred to see our home orchard is now a large pick your own pumpkin patch. 🎃

We kept our best orchard for you and your families to be able to pick the largest variety of apples which will be opening to the public on August 31st. Jonathan, Gala and Honeycrisp will be ready opening weekend with more varieties to follow. Check in will still be required at our main building to receive bags and pay. 🍏 🍎

While we will no longer have the pie parlor open to the public, but we will still be making pies. Single slices will be available for purchase to go in the main building. Frozen pies will also still be available. 🥧
