Hey folks, it is with a heavy heart that we have to announce this year we won’t be seeing you in the berries. After 36 of the best years we could have ever hoped for, we’re closing Rausch’s Blueberries.
We’ve looked at the crop we have this year, and we just can’t provide a blueberry picking experience we believe represents our best.
Blueberry plants typically have a lifespan of about 30 years. Despite George’s relentless green thumb, our plants are tired. We’re tired too. Running a farm is a lot of hard work, as many of you know, and it doesn’t get any easier after 36 years of doing it.
There are still other excellent options in the area for picking blueberries:
G’s Orchard over in Verona (https://www.facebook.com/100069655821139/)
Weaver’s over in Stotts City (5397 Lawrence 2130, Stotts City, MO 65756 - 417-285-3073 - No Facebook, they’re an Amish farm)
This has been an incredibly difficult decision to come to terms with. We want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the wonderful memories and friendships we’ve made over the years. Hopefully we were able to bring even a fraction of the joy into your life that you brought into ours. If you would, please leave a comment about a memory you have, or an experience you had at our farm. It would mean a lot to us.
We’ll miss seeing you in the berries.
