Grateful for customers and friends who have supported and trusted us to serve them in an industry we love.

If only our little heat checkers could read ear tags from here!
If you experience a slight increase to our services this year please understand it isn't because we want to raise prices š¬
We see increases in shipping, supplies and equipment and never pass it on to our customers. This increase is a little harder to cushion.
Gas is only the beginning⦠wait until these crops hit the shelves. Either weāll have food we canāt afford, or a massive shortage due to yield production.

The Cow Sense & Science Report LIVE Special Edition
The requests for us to put in embryos has grown enough that we spent a whirlwind weekend in Mississippi learning just that.
Be patient with us as we learn and become more confident.
We pride ourselves on being darn good at what we currently offer and we aren't going to risk our reputation in the pursuit of greater things.
We are excited to offer this service soon, but need time to practice on our own!
A little browsing with breakfastš„£
If you need a catalog we will have them on hand in Springfield this weekend.
We were proud to be able to donate 4 semen packages to 3 local cattlemen association banquets this season.
Our growth and success has allowed us to dream big. We have something exciting in store this weekend and are excited to share it with everyone at the Illinois Beef Expo in 2 weeks. Be sure to find our Schleich Cattle Services booth in Springfield.
It's not too late to join us Saturday night in Macomb for our annual banquet. We will be offering 5 straws of semen out of the Genex catalog sponsored by us. Reach out if you have questions or need tickets.
Our cattle operation requires lots of moving parts in different counties at different times. This week we've required more help on all ends. Tonight I needed help even though my pride told me otherwise. Thankful for our village that makes this all possible. From Warren to Knox County we appreciate you allš
Tonight's adventure
As I was yelling at the pen of bulls to get back if they wanted fed...Scarlett announced "believe you can do it, Dad always makes it"
And no one needed doctored so I consider that a win!
Feeding and tucking everyone in for the night š
3 calves overnight including a set of twins. Happy Saturday.
With the weather change comes sickness. Hopefully we caught this guy early.
Another opportunity to teach the girls about the ups and downs of animal agriculture and our commitment to them.
As temperatures drop soon will be new calves too!
After a few days away we've collected all the critters and kids and are happy to be doing our own chores again. Today felt like a heat wave.
It takes a village to leave the farm and we are forever thankful for ours!
Like father. Like daughter.
"We're about to drop a lot of babies"- Tyler
"Yep, that we don't have the room for"- Cassie

We are saddened to share that one of our long time Tri-County Cattlemenās Association Board Members, Mark Gillen, has passed away. If youāve been to a banquet or an event we grilled at in the last 20 years, Mark was probably there. He rarely said no to helping others, unless he had plans to do something with his children or watch one of their sporting events. His love for his children was evident every time he talked about them.
We will miss Markās wisdom and support of our vision. Our board will not be the same. We want to pass on our thoughts, prayers and comfort to Markās wife, Stefani, his two children, and the rest of his family.

Cow Sense & Science
Cow Sense & Science is the blending of generational wisdom and cutting-edge genetic tools to produce cattle with real-world worthiness. At GENEX, we not only believe in Cow Sense & Science, our distributors and employees live it every day.
Tyler and Cassie Schleich own Schleich Cattle and are Distributors for GENEX. They are raising their daughters, Scarlett and Sutton, on their cattle and row crop operation in western Illinois.
Tyler and Cassie strive to produce performance cattle with the right look, while they work off the farm. They trust GENEXās Cow Sense & Science because they can`t afford for their own cattle or their customerās cattle to miss. They pride themselves on being able to offer bulls that have the extra look with a strong emphasis on balanced EPDs that fit the commercial cattlemenās demands, that is backed by the GENEX philosophy of Cow Sense & Science.
Great Day for a drive!
Did inventory tonight and preparing to clean out the tanks a little before Spring. We will post a list of bulls we have available soon. In the meantime give us a call if you are searching for something specific.
