For the past 90 days our late night chores have been show cattle in the barn. We are full of weaned calves and bulls and it's hot again and gets dark earlier so the girls and I have had some late nights outside. As I slid the East barn door open to grab hay last night I had chills thinking about that being the same door the dogs snuck in. Proud of us for being brave and also pray we all get a better since of security as we move forward. After the attacks I honestly wasn't sure I ever wanted another dog because of what they are capable of, but now I know I can't ever imagine stepping outside without our trusted security guards.

Now is the time to get the details in order:

Sutton was helping feed and I said "the last prep night before our last show of the year". She replied "No Mom, last show of the season not the year. We have Winter Warm Up"

Our wildcard seems to have got on board with this show steer gig. 1st year 4-Her coming right up!

It's a new week!

After nearly 11 inches of rain last week and a set of weaned calves getting out while we were at state fair and making their way into the barn for the night before making their way to more feed outside we have quite the messes to clean up this week! When we leave for a few days you can guarantee chaos will ensue. At least our basement is dry🙏

I've never been more excited to not be at a fair or ballpark on a random Thursday night. This is our ball field for the next 2.5 weeks.
