The sky was beautiful this morning and I see it as a sign from my sweet girl Marshmellow that all will be ok. It’s with much sadness that I share we lost one of our sweetest, most curious OG girls last night. I hope Marsh is living it up with all her other sisters at the big coop in the sky. She was a trooper through all these years, thank you sweet girl!!

The big girls and Blondie are all moved into the big coop. Aaron put a new auto door in for them and Blondie had to help him the whole time. Man bonding, I guess 🤣😍 Blondie approved! The door and light at night helped them to out themselves to bed all on their own. 2 months old and hitting big milestones!

It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that our sweet Henny Penny passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday morning. She had a long and happy life. She was always grumping at me when I was outside but she was the best chicken momma I have had to date. I will miss her sweet grumpy calls when I am in the coop or out in the yard. Roost high sweet girl and tell the other girls and Brownie we miss him.

Hey everyone! We have an update, it looks like the owner of the dogs that attacked our flock pled guilty last week. We don’t have all the details yet but we are happy to have some justice for our lost girls.
Big things coming soon with a new coop being planned and a safer more secure uncovered run for them. The baby chicks are getting big and have been tons of fun for us this almost month we have had them. Thanks for following along on our journey and I will try and post more for those interested!

I haven’t posted much here about my flock lately. I have on my personal page. Unfortunately, our flock was attacked this week and we lost 11 of our birds. The ducks were part of that number. We had 7 surviving but our rooster Brownie passed away the next day after defending his ladies from the 2 huskies that got into the outside run and were small enough to het through the chicken doors. It was awful. We lost Luna, and Fluff feet from my original flock and both ducks-Piper and Momo. Ivy, Rosie, Fran, Olive, Chizzo, and Jewel.
My 6 remaining are all injured but they are strong. All but 1 of the newest flock were killed, Patricia is struggling but today she looked better. Surviving from our OG Flock is Fluffneck, Penny, Bluey, Hey-Hey, and Marshmellow.

It’s finally happened, the new girls are starting to lay!! We have two cute little eggs from them so far.
I know that it’s been forever since I posted but life has been so busy, I apologize! All the new girls integrated with the old flock perfectly. However, Hey-hey, our queen chicken isn’t allowing them to roost yet so we are working on that. Other than that and some serious molting, all the gals are great, Brownie is still kicking and the ducks are all good. As we get more eggs I will keep you all posted. Can’t wait for my Olive Egger, Olive, to start laying!
