Unfortunately, we won’t be at the Monroe Festival tomorrow. We’re disappointed to miss seeing everyone, but we’ll be keeping our wings dry! ☔️🍯

Working on an updated Cinnamon Creamed Honey recipe. This batch came out a very strong Cinnamon. Ol' Fireball here likes it. We will have to come up with a more descriptive name though... this isn't Cinnamon Roll flavor... it's Big Red or Red Hots flavored. Stef says maybe "Cinnamon Kick". Any suggestions?

A beekeeper's perspective on this GDOT right of way/agent orange situation:

Not only does this look terrible and can't possibly be good for the environment but it's killed everything from 20+ feet up right down to the dirt. That includes all the goldenrod, wingstem, asters and other Fall wildflowers the honeybees and other pollinators rely on to get through Winter. I understand the need for vegetation control, but isn't there a better way?!

Fun removal for some very nice folks last week. Not easily accessible but better than being 20+ feet in the air. The house was built with lumber that was milled on site by the homeowner's father. Very cool construction! I've been thinking about a sawmill for a while. Seeing this cabin got me fired up for one again....something to do in my spare time... lol!

We get asked about our name and the short answer is Buffalo Lick is the name of the road where our original farm is located. The longer explanation has everything to do with this guy who passed away 203 years ago July 22, 1823. William Bartram was an American naturalist, writer and explorer who in 1773 was part of the survey expedition that described The Great Buffalo Lick as a landmark for territory being ceeded from the Creeks and Cherokee to the colony of Georgia. His account of the flora, fauna and people of our part of the world during that era is fascinating. All the things we're interested in now (native fruiting and flowering plants, honeybees, agriculture) he was interested in then!
