Woke up to a pair of white Sebastopol goslings that hatched. Only 2 more eggs in the incubator after this and then that’s a wrap for the geese this year. These and the next ones are spoken for but already looking forward to breeding season starting back up in Feb 2027 to do it all over again.🤗

Heading to Heather Andreini’s lab at Black Horse Farm here in a bit to try our hand at dna sexing these ourselves. I’ll take some video of that process.

Picking up this gorgeous Mottled Slate Tom next weekend. These along with Mottled Blacks are my main turkey breeding project and what I’m breeding for. The mottled turkeys color get more dramatic in contrast every year so I’m excited to get this 2 year old boy to be able to show what it is that you’ll eventually end up with from hatching eggs (or poults, but i’ve been hoarding most of those this year).

My favorite & longest breeding project. 4 generations of breeding and back crossing later and i finally have my 1st Male Chocolate Ermine Ameraucanas! Sent off dna to the lab on these guys to confirm. They are going to be such pretty roosters, I’ve never seen chocolate ermine roosters in “real life”! 😮‍💨
