State vet just left and today’s NPIP inspection(national poultry improvement plan) went great! 2 hours and 30 birds late...

State vet just left and today’s NPIP inspection(national poultry improvement plan) went great! 2 hours and 30 birds later i need a shower. Pretty sure i got crapped on at least 9 times. 😅 Birds, brooders, incubators, pens, eggs, all looked good! Phew!
Now I’ll be able to ship live birds. 🥳
Probably not going to start that until 2027 tho.

Couple more weeks and the geese’s feathers will be in full bloom. They are just stunning already and not even fully grown back after breeding season / molting.

Trying to decide if I want to show any of my birds at the fair this year. My Salmon Favorelles rooster took best of breed & best of variety, and two of my ermine hens took best of variety and reserve of variety at the Cascade Poultry show this spring, but that show was only half a day and fair is a full week I think?? Anybody who has shown their birds at the fair have any insight on how it is for the birds? I feel like they’d be totally stressed out. 🙃

I’m not doing any type of waitlist for these this year, just FCFS when i have them, which i never know when that’ll be it just depends on if an egg order falls thru last minute and i end up incubating them. If you messaged me in the last week looking for these and I said i didn’t have any, i wasn’t fibbing, I didn’t realize I would have extra available until today. 🙃
