Our very own Kevin made the news ❤️❤️

Starting Sept. 1, the U.S. will temporarily allow more imported lean beef into the country at lower tariff rates. The goal is to bring more beef into the market, increase supply and help lower prices for consumers. The policy is set to last 90 days.

But for cattle producers like Kevin Minney of Brost Farms in Monroe County, the change raises questions about what it could mean for the price ranchers get for their cattle.

Why were we closed on Friday?

Well I’m glad you asked!

It wasn’t just because of Ashton’s birthday. We had been secretly planning his official first Discovery Flight with an amazing instructional pilot, Donovan who works for Buckeye Flight Academy

While we were both nervous, Ashton successful took off, flew for 50 minutes, and did a zero gravity maneuver that had both of our tummy’s nauseous.

We love being able to feed his love for planes and we know, without a doubt, he will do great things in the aviation field ✈️

Katilyn will work on getting back to all the inquiring over the last couple days. If you can imagine, we have been swamped with people reaching out about purchasing meat 🥩

Happiest of birthdays to our boy, Ashton 🎂🎉

Watching you grow from our tiny, bright eyed baby into such a great young man, has been nothing short of amazing.

Your never ending personality, fierce independence, undeniable generosity, and unwavering kindness has given us a whole new lease on life. Knowing that we are raising such a standup gentleman, has given us endless joy.

It’s a short week for us at the farm stand, as we celebrate Ashton’s birthday on Friday 🎉

Please check our hours on Google before driving out, I witnessed about 6 cars pull into our driveway yesterday and slow creep past the store, before ultimately leaving.

Please remember that this is our home, as well as our business. Please refrain from coming here on days we are not open

Got my best bud helping me measure and put insulators up on all our t-posts and wooden fence posts.

Our fence line works great, until the neighbor plants corn and the herd decides that it’s their all you can eat buffet 😆😆

So, running some electric fence should help keep them in-line ⚡️⚡️

New day means a new pasture 💚💚

We have received A LOT of messages, calls, online orders, and inquiries about purchasing beef from our farm.

While we are elated that so many people trust us with raising their beef to feed their families, , we are but a small/medium operation. Raising a single steer takes;

9 months: in gestation
6 months: with mom
10 months: growing phase
3-4 months: fattening phase

It takes approx 28-29 months to get a steer to market. 👀

So please be patient with us, we are not like most cattle farms in the area that buy feeders and fatten them for a few months, we are an all in one farm ❤️

How blessed are we to have this beautiful land and beautiful herd of cattle in our backyard. Never ever will we take this for granted ❤️❤️
