From the outset, our goal has always been to consistently craft wines that truly capture the unique character of the vineyards where they are grown. Our dynamic range of hand-crafted wines includes several Pinot

Noirs, Gamay Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris, each boasting bold, rich, layered flavors that stand the test of time. Our 33-acre estate vineyard is dry farmed and sustainably tended, featuring organic materials to promote healthy growth. A final recap of the last few days on this epic journey of Sardinia & Corsica with an exceptional group of friends/travelers and our amazing team! We capped the last evening with a delicious dinner in the mountains at “Codula” accompanied by 4 shepherds singing for us. The Sardinian shepherds’ singing tradition is called cantu a tenore (or canto a tenore), an ancient polyphonic vocal style. They use their voices to mimic the sounds of nature, which is a method of long-distance communication and a way to pass the time during solitary days in the hills.

On May 13th we visited our last winery- ‘Cantina Giampietro Puggioni’- but first we enjoyed a museum in the heart of Mamoiada where the people prepare all year for their ‘Carnival’ that starts in mid January through Easter! This is a pagan traditional ceremony to ward off the evil spirits of Winter and to welcome Spring. This tradition is carried out all of Europe and every country has their own costumes and specific rituals to celebrate.
The winery was so interesting- 8 stories high built in a circular tube, the origin was a community winery for the village, but today it is privately owned and they hosted us with a delicious lunch and 2 different Cannonau wines. We toured the rest of the building including the barrel room and purchased a few bottles that were later shared at our finale beach party.

On May 12th we drove to our seaside last stop - Cala Gonone. A picturesque beach community that simply served us well. We enjoyed a boat ride to a sea cave with very different stalactites and stalagmites than we’ve seen before. Then we went back on the boat to enjoy a little beach time. Some of us enjoyed the beachside café, but Morgan and I booked it to a beach cave to enjoy just a little sun under the natural awning and added a quick dip in the Mediterranean. A wee bit cool to swim too long- but very refreshing!

On May 11th we took the ferry back to Sardinia with an AMPLE picnic box lunch individually packed for each of us from our friends at the resort & Costa Rossa winery in Corsica. We headed to ‘Da Tani’ winery currently run by the owner/founder’s adult daughters. The very youthful father at 78 still runs the vineyard and took a moment from his farm chores to chat and talk about his vines with Morgan and I. The wines were lovely. We tasted two Vermentinos (white varietal) and two Cannonau (red varietal) wines. The wines were paired with delicious charcuterie and crumbly hard cheeses that were absolutely delicious!

After our excursion we drove to the countryside just outside of Bonifacio to our little slice of heaven for the next few nights. The resort is simply magical and the food was exquisite! Everything prepared in the kitchen was either from their farm or a nearby farm. The property is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and the serene views of the pristine grounds, the sounds of the frogs in the nearby pond in the evening and the scent of spring flowers lulled us all into a very relaxed state. The 2nd day, we drove just a few minutes to a nearby winery, ‘Costa Ross and enjoyed a beautiful tasting with plenty of cheese and charcuterie to pair. The winemakers are a father and son team. At the ripe age of 26 the son is making more and more of the wines on his own. Sound familiar??

After a great impromptu party sharing all the wine we have collected thus far- on May 9th we headed to Bonifacio, CORSICA! Our smiles tell the story. The food, the wine, the adorable town and the shopping!

May 8th- Alghero… traveled by boat to the peninsula to the nearby caves - “Grotto Di Nettuno” -Neptune’s Cave. Spectacular doesn’t come close to describing how magical this place is and feels. And the turquoise/green and blue water is nothing like I’ve ever seen before… so clear and inviting, absolutely stunning! Back to Alghero to enjoy the shops, including a local, very famous couture designer, “Antonio Marras” and watching the sunset with a beautiful solo that feels unreal.

On May 7th we visited the sweet town of Bosa- the homes are so colorful and vibrant all decorated with beautiful wall gardens and or various types of sculptures. Intimate and delicious wine tasting of Giovanni Battista Columbu ‘Alvarega’ Malvasia di Bosa. Then we visited a quiet restaurant in the highlands where we watched a shepherd make his cheese from the milk he received that morning. We enjoy various cheeses, charcuterie, pastas and roasted pork and potatoes for lunch. Everything was amazing!! Next stop Alghero.

At San Giovanni di Sinis we took a “train” to the top of the hillside w/ our archaeological guide who taught us about the Carthaginian site that was later conquered by the Romans in 238 BC! The discovery has thus far uncovered the Carthaginian baths, homes and the Roman road and a few of their structures that still stand.
Later that day we enjoyed a beautiful wine tasting at Contini winery- the sparkling Rosé stole the show. The tasting was followed by a delicious lunch with Fregola pasta and a chocolate Tiramisu that I can’t stop thinking about - so YUMMY!
