Farm Stand Information!

We will announce farm stand hours in advance and it will vary depending on the weather, supply and our presence on the farm.

This week the stand will be open Wednesday the 27th and Thursday May 28th. We hope folks will stop for meats, some of our handmade soaps, and to check out the other items we will have. Hours will be 12-5 pm.

For anyone interested in seeing the babies- wear good shoes and we will arrange a guide.......we have lambs and Cessna and Sikorsky (twin doelings) were born over the weekend. Their mother is Bell- let's just say I don't name them!

Any guesses on that family's theme?

Please share to help us spread the word!

Went out to check on some of the seedlings Orrin and Zeb helped me transplant last night before the rain began and was serenaded by songbirds.......got a glimpse of the bobolink that are resetting the spring planting plans, a gold finch, robins, sparrows, morning doves and I think I saw a bluebird.....although I feel like it is early for them. There were some others I didn't recognize.

Regardless.....attracting songbirds is one of our long term goals and I think we are well on our way! Not only do they consume insects we don't want.......they add to the farming experience with their music!

Announcement!! First farmstand day of the 2026 season!

Wednesday, May 13th we will have the farmstand open and staffed from 1-5pm. Farm stand hours will be something that we will announce ahead for now. But we aren't sure how that aspect will pull together.

We will have an amazing display of soaps.......18 varieties are currently in stock. There will be meat available, and Jerusalem artichokes for establishing your own bed for $5/bag. There may be other items as well like crafts and baked goods.......it's still coming together.

And if you would like, plan to walk up to see the sheep and the new lambs that arrived yesterday afternoon........twins out of Mercy......yet to be named. A fitting Mother's Day treat when Phoebe and I arrived back from our adventure at Broadturn Farm.

Please share because we hope some folks will stop in!

Not sure it will be quite ready for the Skowhegan Farmers' Market tomorrow but maybe I will pick some anyways to send. Doug will be covering for me this week so that I can get things wrapped up with soap. The count last night was over 600 bars.

Every week we will be trying to add something to our display. This week it will definitely be some of the new soaps......rosemary mint is back in stock! Stop by our booth and check out the new additions....

Sometimes it is good to be reminded that good things can come from disappointment......sometimes it just takes time for our plans ( and dreams) to come to fruition.......
...a year ago Zeb, Phoebe, Orrin and Asa helped me plant thousands of onion seedlings, but last summer was so dry that I thought all of those seedlings we planted had died........very few were more than scallion sized at best and pretty lost in the weeds that overtook our efforts......
........well...... that entire bed......over 100+ feet with at least 4 rows in it is filled with gorgeous onions that are 4 inches tall.......I got so excited when I found them.

We may have a bountiful crop yet!

Have been busy making soap! New molds and along with our tried-and-true soaps we have new varieties like charcoal lavender, honey oatmeal, calendula oil, blueberry vanilla, and a few more coming to a market near you soon. The pictures are only a small glimpse of what's been happening over the last few weeks.

If you happen to be in southern Maine this weekend, stop by Broadturn Farm's Mother's Day Event ...this Sunday from 9am-1pm.......we are excited ...... and a bit nervous to have been invited to participate......but we should have an incredible selection of our soaps for the occasion.
