No matter what your plan is for the day, the farm will tell you what needs to be done. Came out to build 3 goat shelters. Found out a dead tree was in danger of taking out a fence. So we took down 5 dead trees and built 1 shelter.

Redman 7 weeks

Our boy Redman and momma Latte got to go to the outside pen today. He is 7 weeks old and seems massive to us.

Our fearless protector, Bolt. Our other guy Duke is in timeout. Caught him chasing and chewing on the goats. Hopefully he will grow out of that, we will see when we can spend a day watching him.

Cool thing happen on The Spoke today! This is no ordinary pigeon. It's a racing pigeon! Had no idea they were a thing🤷‍♀️ We have contacted the club, and hopefully they check their messages on the weekends. If not it is safe from our cats and dogs, found it in Sunny's mouth, its drinking and eating. Hopefully it will be OK and make it home.

Another Triplet birth today! First baby did not make it, Scott tried to resuscitate but it wasn't meant to be. The next 2 were painful for momma and stressful for us. I left work to assist, Scott had tried to reposition since he seen 3 legs and 1 nose and it was NOT coming out. Didn't work, I "bumped the belly and got him to go back in some, she delivered on the next push. Then the girl presented back feet first. We pulled her and cleared the sack. Both are eating well!

Got all 3 babies eating, planted corn and beans, kid watch on the last momma, have half a hog on the smoker, assisted in an awesome pork chop dinner and got my hummingbird feeders out! I love being on the homestead!

Our new little. She is so small, she couldn't latch on to mom. So we decided to pull her and bottle feed. Yes she did have an accident on my floor, and I am HAPPY, we have watched her all day and never seen her "go". Prayers for our her please. He have a bit of a road ahead.

UPDATE: Boomer was taken by a predator. He will be missed for sure.

My handsome fella Boomer went missing today. It appeared he was "holding a nest", but he hasn't been on his nest spot all day. He didn't come up for feed and we have walked the acreage and no sign of him being taken by a predator. Currently crying in the front yard hollering for him. But the other turkeys are the only ones answering.😞

I think Mama GiGi is ready to have her babies. Tomorrow is the full moon! So I will get to utilize my goat bar and nursery pen Scott made me with bar stools included! Baby goats are my favorite!

WE WILL BE SELLING MIXED BREED CHICKS IN THE NEAR FUTURE! Pricing to be announced, there will be colored egg layers in the hatch. Broke down and bought a new incubator. We just could not find the right fan for Mr. J's. His will become a new coffee table for our house!

Nearly lost our Easter boy tonight. A plywood board came loose from their cover and he got under it somehow. Our Billy was on top of that board when our son found him. Thanks to our Friends Jessie and John and Scott, he was revived and returned to the herd.
