Nothing lasts. And so, we're sorry to have to announce that the tasting room will be officially closing on November 13th. Sunday, November 12th will be the last day of regular service.
This has been coming for a while, so it's likely not a total surprise for some of you. And while this is primarily a business decision – the wine industry isn't the easiest place to make a living – it's also an opportunity to shift priorities. There are only so many things you can do with your time.
The company won't be disappearing entirely just yet, though. We will continue to sell our wine online, and we still have a number of new releases that will be coming out over the next several months. We will also be keeping the wine club going for the foreseeable future. The next shipment is already planned for December, so we'll be getting the details out about that in the next few weeks.
Primarily, though, the vineyards will continue on, and we'll be growing and selling fruit as we always have. And as we do so, we'll also be improving our sustainability efforts. The vineyards were just certified sustainable via the CSWA program over the summer, and we're in the process of expanding on the gains we've made over the last year.
Finally, since we have the space for the time being, we are tentatively planning to host a few special events at 499 Wave over the next few months. No promises, but we would like to have one or two last get-togethers here before we have to hand over the keys. So, more to come on that as well.
But the most important thing is simply to say thank you all of you who have supported us over the last fourteen years. The urge to pour on the schmaltz is strong, but for now we'd just like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who've come through the doors here and helped to make this ungainly project not only possible, but weirdly enjoyable. More soon.
