We make sorghum on Saturday before Labor Day and then on Labor Day (Monday). We skip the next day (Tuesday) and then make every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of October.

There will be 3 more days of Sorghum making at Muddy Pond Sorghum Mill after today. We will be making next Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

We are doing a Sorghum making demonstration at Great Smokies Welcome Center in Townsend, Tennessee this weekend. The pictures are from yesterday. We will be there today and tomorrow, October 24 & 25.
Saturday 9:00 am until 4:00 pm eastern time
Sunday 9:00 am until 3:00 pm eastern time
This is the last weekend at this location this year.

We will be at Great Smokies Welcome Center in Townsend, Tennessee doing a Sorghum making demonstration this weekend, October 23, 24, and 25. The employees of Smokies Life will be selling our Sorghum Syrup in glass pints and quarts and our Barbecue Sauce in glass pints.
All purchases benefit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

9am until 4pm eastern time
The mules will be finished pressing around 3pm eastern time.

Here is a list of the rest of our Sorghum making demonstrations for this Season and year. I took off the ones we have already done.

Purchases from Great Smokies Welcome Center in Townsend and the Visitors Center in Cades Cove benefit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Both places sell our Sorghum Syrup and our Barbecue Sauce year round.

When you come to Mountain Brothers General Store, we have all our products for sell, including Sorghum Syrup in various sizes in plastic jugs and glass jars, Barbecue Sauce (made with our Sorghum) in pints and 1/2 gallons, pints and quarts of our Sourwood and Wildflower Honey, Sorghum Suckers, Sorghum and Honey Straws, Sorghum Treasures Cookbooks, and Sorghum Cookies.

13 years ago at Music and Molasses at Ellington Agriculture Center. This, along with several other Sorghum making demonstrations just quit having them. The heritage of Sorghum making is slowly disappearing. I can think of 4 big events that we went to for 20 years or more that have either quit completely or quit having us doing the Sorghum Making Demonstration. It is a lost Art. We keep trying to keep it alive, but it is a struggle.

Mules are eating and Mark has the fire going on this cold morning here at Great Smokies Welcome Center in Townsend, Tennessee.
We're doing a Sorghum making demonstration here today, and we will be back next weekend.
Come see us. We're here today until 4 pm. The mules pressing will go until 3 pm.
They are selling our Sorghum in glass pints and quarts and our Barbecue Sauce in glass pints.
