Talk about divide....
Now it seems that we have factions, or groups.
I introduced the calves to the field this morning. All sheep were grouped together, all goats were grouped together, and they ALL stood around staring and glaring at the new arrivals.

Things just keep getting crazier and crazier!
Twice this month, I've posted stories about "Easy", and her escapades with stair climbing.
Today, while I was cleaning her stall, I let her out to run around....that way, she would be out of my way and she wouldn't get hurt from a pitchfork jab.
My beautiful bride came out to ask me a question and "Easy" heard her voice.
As long as I live, I will continue to be amazed by this pig. Easy took off running; looking for "momma". She saw my wife standing on the landing and immediately run up the stairs to greet her. Now THIS.....is where it gets crazy!
My wife is telling her not to come up the stairs. Easy isn't listening, in fact, she goes to the TOP landing where my wife is.
I had the undaunting task of getting her back down the stairs. Instead of putting her on the dog's bed and sliding her down, I figured that I would coax her down with animal crackers. I got the bucket and her attention immediately diverted to me.
I stood at the bottom of the stairs and, as I had predicted earlier in the week, she came down ON HER OWN. Now, I can honestly say that I've seen pigs fly. She came down the first three steps, slid down one, then got spooked and lept the last four steps to the ground, landing on the stall mat at the bottom. AMAZING PIG

Have you priced eggs lately? I was at the market a week ago, and "certified organic" eggs are $12.00 a dozen.
News flash:. Our eggs are organic as well, because we buy organic feed, and they free-range. Our eggs are only $5.00 a dozen, period. My question is this:. How long do those eggs sit there before they're purchased? Some of those eggs are 15 to 30 days old when they hit the store.
Can't buy a "farm fresh" egg at a grocery store.

Four dozen pre-cooked scrambled eggs. In a pinch, just add a little water to rehydrate and eat.

Four dozen eggs in the freeze dryer. Probably going to do four more tomorrow when those are done.

Okay, so now for the fun stuff.
Every time I think of, or interact with this pig, my mind wanders back to the movie "Charlotte's Web", where the spider, Charlotte, spins different describing words about Wilber the pig.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted on here about our pig, "Easy", climbing up the stairs.
So, as of yesterday, since she obviously is not afraid of the first eight steps, she has tried her hand at the last four steps, which would put her in the house. We stopped her before she got too far, but we were so busy laughing at her running up the first eight... O.M.Gosh it was funny.
The best part is that she went back down the stairs much more willingly this time. It only took three cookies right toward the bottom to get her back on flat ground. This is one amazing pig!

So, as many of you know, we kept a female from our last litter of piglets. There was a lot of turmoil and stress during the first part of the year, with the flood and and all the losses.
Well, my lovely bride insisted that the young piglet be kept in the house because "she would be lonely" without her mother, who we had to put down. Long story short, her "baby" lived in our house for about 2 and a half months, until she got too heavy go be carried any longer. Now, this pig, whom I've nicknamed "Easy" because when you touch her, she falls to the floor and rolls over for a belly rub, loves to play and run around in the garage. She has, for all intense and purposes, become what would be akin to a lap dog. Yesterday while I was out prepping our garden, our youngest son comes running out yelling, "Dad, come quick, mom needs your help"! I go running into the garage, where she has been living, the pig not my wife, to see what was the matter.
My beautiful bride had gone upstairs into the house, and the pig followed her....UP THE STAIRS!!! The emergency was nothing more than my wife trying to get "Easy" back DOWN the stairs. O.M.Gosh...too funny!
