As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, we honor the courage of our Founding Fathers and the ideals that shaped our nation.

For 250 years, generations of Americans have carried that spirit forward - innovating, building, serving, and creating opportunities for those who follow.

May we never take for granted the freedoms that inspire innovation, strengthen our communities, and make our nation stronger.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at Vaughan Company!!

This week is at the Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference & Expo in Dallas as a Gold Sponsor!

In design-build, decisions get made early and has a way of testing those decisions once things are up and running.

Vaughan equipment is built for that reality - handling solids, mixing wet-wells, and helping systems perform the way they’re intended to.

Stop by Booth 317 and say hello to Bryson Gravatt!

Chopper Pump vs. Grinder Pump — What’s the Difference? ⚙️💡

One of the most common questions we hear:
"Is a chopper pump just another type of grinder pump?"
Not quite - and here’s why...

It comes down to how solids are handled.

A grinder pump uses a grinding mechanism to reduce solids into a controlled slurry before pumping.

This makes them well suited for low-flow, high-head applications - including residential, commercial, and pressure sewer systems - where consistent solids size is important.

That approach, however, comes with tradeoffs:
• Higher power consumption ⚡
• Reduced pump capacity

A chopper pump takes a different approach - it chops as it pumps, with the cutting action built directly into the pump itself.

Because real systems don’t deal with ideal conditions - they deal with wipes, rags, and debris - maintaining flow becomes critical.

That’s where chopper pumps stand apart:
• Higher capacity
• Better efficiency
• Reliable performance in demanding applications

Both technologies have their place.

But when systems require consistent performance under real-world conditions, understanding the difference matters.
