Honored that our Smoked Half Chickens at made it into Favorite Texas Barbecue Bites of 2022 in . Don’t do it for the critics but it sure feels good to get recognition on such a large platform for Barbecue. I’ve cooked thousands of these chickens at this point and each cook brings the same anticipation and excitement as the first one. People often ask me for the secret to the way we cook chicken. Truth be told it’s playing soul music at high volume and singing to it til the skin gets crispy.

A few highlights of mine from this weekend at the BBQ Fest Top 50 Picnic.

Meeting and hanging out with the crew. Y’all sure know how to get down and have a good time. That chimichurri bone marrow bite was unreal.

Finally trying out the #1 bbq spot in Texas . That house baked bread is a game changer for a fold over.

Witnessing work a live fire grill is always a special moment. One of the baddest mfers in the game. Glad we got to chop it up after everything slowed down.

The look on .ortiz face when he met his bbq crush . Absolutely priceless.

The Tijuana chicken from was my final bite of the day and it was sensational. and are killing the game.

So many more special moments and interactions, but it’s impossible to fit them all here. God bless Texas Barbecue. 🤘🏼
