🐛🍂 FUN FACT FRIDAY — Woolly Bear Edition! 🍂🐛

Have you spotted any of these fuzzy little guys crawling around lately?! 👀

🐛 FUN FACT: According to old folklore, woolly bear caterpillars can predict how harsh our winter will be!

🧡 More brown/rust-colored fuzz = A milder winter!

🖤 More black fuzz = A long, cold, harsh winter!

But here's the twist! 🤯 Scientists say their colors actually have more to do with their age, growth, and environment than predicting the weather!

And another fun fact? These fuzzy little guys survive Minnesota winters by producing a natural antifreeze-like substance that helps protect them from freezing! ❄️

🐓 Now we want to know! Have you spotted any woolly bears around your neck of the woods? Are they mostly black, brown, or a mix of both?

👇 Drop your sightings in the comments! We're hoping they're predicting a MILD Minnesota winter! 😂🧡

🐔💎 Meet the Ladies Monday… on a Tuesday! 😂

Apparently having a day off work means forgetting what day of the week it is! 🤦‍♀️ So we're a day late, but the ladies don't seem to mind!

This week we're introducing you to Dusty, one of our beautiful Sapphire Gems! 🩶

Dusty is one of our shyer girls. She prefers to keep to herself and isn't usually one to demand attention. But don't let that quiet personality fool you!

When the treats come out, Dusty turns into a little race car! 🏎️💨 She gets her whole body down SUPER low to the ground and just TAKES OFF! 😂 It's honestly one of the funniest things to watch. We aren't sure if she's running for treats or training for the chicken Olympics!

She's a sweet, well-behaved girl who just likes to do things her own way. And we wouldn't change a thing about her! ❤️

🐔 Quiet personality. Low rider. Treat-powered speed demon.

Give Dusty some love in the comments! 🩶🐓

🐔💕 Our hearts are so full after this weekend! 💕

When we started Coop There It Is Farmstead, we hoped people would enjoy the things we love making. But seeing so many of you support our little dream this weekend meant more than we can put into words. 🥹❤️

We had our first BIG sales weekend and sold over $200 worth of homemade goodies!! 🎉

Between our 🍞 homemade sourdough bread, 🍎 crab apple jelly, and 🥞 sourdough pancake mix, you all showed up in a BIG way!

That $200 might not seem like much to some, but to us, it's a pretty exciting milestone!

Behind every loaf, jar, and bag is a whole lot of love, hard work, flour-covered counters, and a little kitchen chaos! 😂

Every purchase, share, recommendation, and kind word helps turn our little dream into something real.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for supporting our little farmstead! ❤️

We're just getting started, and we can't wait to share more homemade goodness with you!

🐔🌾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🌾🐔

🥚 Did you know? A chicken's earlobe color can sometimes give you a clue about what color eggs she lays?! 🤯

Chickens with white earlobes often lay white eggs, while chickens with red earlobes often lay brown eggs!

But here's the twist… it's not a foolproof rule! Some breeds lay beautiful blue, green, or even olive-colored eggs! 💙💚

🐔 NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!

If you could open a carton of fresh eggs and find ANY color inside, which would you choose?

🤎 Classic brown

🤍 Beautiful white

💙 Pretty blue

💚 Gorgeous green

🌈 Or give me ALL the colors!

👇 Tell us your pick in the comments! We love hearing from you!

🐔✨ Meet the Ladies Monday! ✨🐔

Next up is Hei Hei, one of the newest additions to our flock!

Hei Hei is such a sweet girl—and she’s absolutely beautiful with her unique mix of blue-gray, soft brown, and charcoal feathers. 🩶🤎 She loves hanging out with her three sisters. We brought all four of them home together, and they’re still their own little crew around the farmstead.

She isn’t laying yet, but I’m especially excited for the day she starts! Hei Hei is an Ameraucana, so she should add some beautiful blue or green eggs to our baskets. 🩵💚🥚

For now, she’s busy growing, exploring, and enjoying life with her sisters—while we impatiently check the nesting boxes and wait for that first colorful egg. 😂

🍎 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🍎

Did you know it takes roughly 5 pounds of apples to make just ONE quart of apple butter?! 🤯

That’s because apple butter gets its thick, rich texture from cooking the apples low and slow until much of the water cooks away. And despite the name, there’s actually no butter in apple butter! 😂

And speaking of apple butter… 👀🍎
It may just be one of the next homemade goodies making its way to Coop There It Is! 🤎 Stay tuned!
