Lauren and Molly came to town for a girls’ trip to the Texas RenFest, and I’m so glad they chose 1486 Hideaway as their home base!

🌿 ☕ Their review mentioned so many of the little things we hope our guests enjoy—the peaceful property, spotless and cozy accommodations, comfortable beds, easy check-in, and even having BUBBA’s BREW right here on the property for coffee before heading to RenFest. 🏰

With the number of neighborhoods being built within 5 miles of our property, its no surprise that new schools are being built. What I haven't seen is an update on the 1486 Expansion Project.

Magnolia ISD Hires Builders for Three New Schools

Earlier this month, the Magnolia ISD school board approved construction contracts for several new projects. These projects will be paid for by the district’s 2026 bond.

Voters approved the $465 million bond in May with about 64% support. A larger $517 million bond had failed the previous November. The money will mainly pay for new schools because the district is growing quickly. Last school year, enrollment grew 4.6% - about 190 more students than expected.

The board hired:

• B&C Constructors Inc. to build Elementary Schools #10 and #11
• Stewart Builders Inc. to build High School #3 and expand Magnolia High School and Magnolia West High School

Assistant Superintendent Erich Morris gave the board an update on the projects:

• Elementary School #10 is farthest along. Half of the construction plans are finished, and all of them must be ready by December. The board will vote on the final price limit (called the Guaranteed Maximum Price) on February 8, 2027. Construction should start in March 2027.

• Elementary School #11 is still early. Workers are surveying the land and testing the soil. Design of the building’s outside should start in early 2027, and construction bidding should begin in late fall 2027.

• High School #3 will be built on about 100 acres along FM 1486. District leaders plan to show design plans to the board in December. Half of the construction documents should be ready by January 2027. Bidding will open in April or May 2027, and the board should see the final price limit in June or July 2027.
