Be honest.

When it comes to tequila nights, are you:

The person who plans the whole night—
where to go, what to order, how it’s going to go?

Or the person who just shows up and sees what happens—
orders something new, follows the vibe, no plan needed?

There is no third option.

Which one are you?

There are two types of people in every relationship:

One of us needs a plan. The other thinks planning takes all the fun out of it.

One is already looking up reservations, mapping out the weekend, and making sure we “make the most of the time.”

The other is saying “let’s just see where the day takes us.”

And somehow… we always end up doing a little of both.

Are you the planner or the spontaneous one?

Our ideal Friday night has become surprisingly simple.

A good tequila pour.
Music playing low in the background.
Something small to snack on.
Phones put away for a little while.
And lately, a journal nearby.

The older we get, the more we realize luxury isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s just finally feeling present.

That’s part of why we created the tequila journal in the first place.
Not to make tequila feel serious.
Just more intentional.

A place for tasting notes, late-night thoughts, memories with friends, cocktail ideas, travel notes, or whatever the night becomes.

If you missed this week’s blog and newsletter about journaling + tequila, it’s one of our favorite pieces we’ve shared in awhile.

What instantly makes a night feel calmer to you?

You do not need to sound like a tequila expert to enjoy tequila.
Somewhere along the way, tequila culture got weirdly intimidating.

People act like you need to:
👉memorize tasting notes
👉know every region
👉collect expensive bottles
👉use the “right” words

We disagree.

We’d rather:
👉open the good bottle on a random Wednesday
👉drink what we actually enjoy
👉host people who are new to tequila
👉have conversations instead of competitions

The best tequila experiences are rarely the most impressive ones.

They’re the ones where people feel comfortable enough to stay awhile.

That’s exactly the kind of conversations we share in our newsletter every week.

No gatekeeping.
No pretending.
Just tequila, stories, rituals, and good company.

What’s something in drink culture that feels overly pretentious to you?

The best tequila nights usually aren’t about the tequila.

They’re about the conversation that lasted longer than expected.
The playlist that accidentally matched the mood perfectly.
The “just one drink” nights that turned into memories.

Honestly, some of our favorite tequila experiences have happened with affordable bottles, mismatched glassware, and nowhere important to be.

That’s why We Hart Tequila has never really been about collecting the most impressive bottle.
It’s about creating experiences worth remembering.

A slow pour.
A good question.
A quiet evening.
A journal entry you’ll laugh about later.

That’s the kind of tequila culture we want more of.

If that sounds like your kind of night, our newsletter was made for you. Monthly tequila conversations, rituals, recommendations, and reflections without the gatekeeping.

What’s the most memorable tequila night you’ve had lately?

We created The Tequila Journal because tequila experiences are personal.

You shouldn’t need to memorize expert terminology to remember:

👉what you enjoyed
👉who you shared it with
👉where you were
👉or why a bottle mattered

The best tequila memories usually have very little to do with sounding impressive.

The journal was designed to help people explore tequila in a more approachable, intentional way — whether you’re completely new or already building a collection.

Available in both ebook and physical versions 🥃
Are you more likely to choose physical books or ebooks?

A lot of people think tequila is only for:

🍋‍🟩collectors
🍋‍🟩experts
🍋‍🟩people with expensive shelves
🍋‍🟩people who know every tasting note

We disagree.

If you enjoy discovering new bottles, sharing drinks with friends, or finding tequila experiences worth remembering… you’re already part of the community 🥃

That’s exactly why we created our newsletter — to make tequila feel more approachable, more social, and a lot less intimidating.

We share:
🥃 tequila experiences
🥃 recommendations
🥃 stories
🥃 education without the snobbery
🥃 behind-the-scenes favorites

If that sounds like your kind of tequila space, come join us.

Most people don’t avoid tequila because they dislike it.
They avoid talking about it because they think they’ll sound “wrong.”

The truth?
You do not need fancy tasting notes or expert vocabulary to enjoy tequila.

Some of the best tequila conversations sound like:

“This one tastes smoother.”
“I’d drink this again.”
“This reminds me of a vacation.”
“I like this better than the last one.”

That’s it. 🥃

Our newest blog is all about how to talk about tequila without sounding pretentious — and why tequila should feel more welcoming in the first place.

Follow along if you’re learning tequila one experience at a time.

Comment with the first word you’d use to describe your favorite tequila.

Tequila becomes WAY more enjoyable when you stop trying to impress people and start paying attention to your own experience.

A few easy ways to start exploring:

🍋 Compare expressions side-by-side Blanco vs reposado vs añejo can completely change a cocktail or tasting experience.

🍋 Keep notes You’ll notice patterns in what you enjoy faster than you think.

🍋 Stay curious There’s no perfect way to experience tequila. The best experiences usually come from experimenting.

That mindset is exactly what inspired both our newsletter and The Tequila Journal.

If you want a place to track your tequila experiences, The Tequila Journal is available in physical + e-book versions on our website.

Save this for your next tequila tasting 🍋

The people who enjoy tequila the most usually aren’t the people trying to prove they know everything.

They’re the people willing to:
👉try something new
👉compare expressions
👉ask questions
👉revisit bottles
👉explore different experiences

That curiosity is what makes tequila fun.

Not rules. Not pretending. Not gatekeeping.

That’s also the spirit behind our newsletter. Every issue is built around exploration, experiences, recommendations, and conversation.

Next issue goes out May 20 🍋

And if you’ve been wanting a better way to track your tequila journey, The Tequila Journal is available in both physical + e-book versions on our website.

What’s one tequila you’re curious to try right now?
