No one will ever be as tired as Ares during the week of Nationals😭
Poor baby went to the work out pen, had a bath, and got a hair cut today.
He followed it up with eating a few pounds of Tall Towers Feed, some open-eyed panini naps, and snuggles of course!

So few things are actually needed in this life.

When you find the things you're good at, the ones that light you up and bring you joy, that's when you know you are blessed beyond compare.

They might just look like a bunch of silly goats to some people, and that's okay. No one else needs to understand our joy.

Livestock is an art. From seeing, to selecting, to retaining, to letting go. The grief, the anxiety, the pride, the joy--it's truly an art form, and it's not for everyone.

Back in 2023, Hades was the first buck that we took to Nationals and we haven't taken one since then. This year we are taking 7 bucks 🤯 with us to Nationals!

Hades was a lot of fun to take around showing back when he was a junior, but his show days are behind him. Now we take his wonderful offspring with us--4 of his kids are making the trip to Grand Island.

How will they fair? No idea, but they've accomplished some pretty cool stuff for us this spring and we're proud of them no matter what!

I took about 50 great pictures of Buddy. He has such a huge personality, will take you out by the knees if you're in his way, insists on being at the gate for pets, and the first one in the feed pan. (SO like his dad)
Then there's his brother...Twofer. I was lucky to get a single decent photo of him..always shy, never causes a scene except when Buddy leaves his side. He's just a little more like his mom. I'm not sure I've met two brothers that are more different!

Taking Hades anywhere is a lot like taking another kid.
He can be loud, destructive, impatient..I usually just end up in the trailer with him so he stays calm.
Once calm, his true personality takes over😆

Those of us that are awake, need to protect agriculture🌾🐐🌽 One of our missions is to start and promote conversations to generate interest. Sometimes a difference in opinion can be what gets the most people involved.

The livestock industry certainly brings up a lot of differing opinions, but they're all important to talk about. We have chosen to raise our daughter in the livestock industry because it supplies everything she will ever need to be a well-rounded, decent, adult human. The lessons are in everything--good and bad--and there's always something else to learn.
