A long time coming, but here are some photos and videos from the incredible journey of transforming our building into what is now Nordic Taphouse.

What started as a complete gut renovation turned into one of the most challenging and rewarding projects of my life. Over the course of just four months, we completely rebuilt the space from the ground up—installing a new reinforced roof, all new HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical infrastructure to the mains, new interior walls, remodeled bathrooms, and a finished second floor. What seemed like an impossible task became reality through hard work, dedication, and an amazing team of people.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came alongside us and helped bring this vision to life. A special thanks to my dad, Mykel Barthel, Todd Zimmerman, Dave Carlson, Chris Sutton, Darrin and Dan Aleckson, Eric and Mike with Wes Olson Electric, Mike and his team at Monticello Plumbing & Heating, Scott with Final Choice Builders, High Performance Coatings, Mike with Air Designs, Keith with Affordabox Dumpsters, Monti Arts, and the incredible staff at the City of Monticello. There are also many others who contributed along the way, and while I may not have listed everyone here, please know your hard work and support did not go unnoticed.

Projects like this don’t happen because of one person—they happen because a community of talented people comes together, solves problems, puts in long hours, and believes in a shared vision. I am forever grateful for everyone who helped make this dream a reality.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe what we accomplished in only four months. Thank you to everyone who picked up a tool, offered advice, lent a hand, or simply supported us along the way. Nordic wouldn’t be what it is today without you.

Brunch starts NOW! We been working hard planning this one out for a while now! Brunch is every Saturday/Sunday 8am till 11am with a special menu for both breakfast and special cocktails!
