Happy Spring everyone!

I know there are a lot of questions about whether we will re-open — unfortunately, we still don't know! We are asking for HIGHEST and BEST OFFERS for Skipper's to keep it open.

We are selling:

1) the business's physical assets (equipment, tables, chairs, inventory, merchandise, etc)
2) the popular, profitable branding built locally, including its Facebook and website.

We're asking $90,000 — the past owners' originally asked for $125,000. But we'd like to avoid liquidating Skipper's, so if you would love to keep it open, we'd love to work with you on pricing.

The building and property are rented for $1,825 a month. The property owners are open to selling the building and property with the business. It was originally purchased for $299,999.

Unfortunately, we will look to liquidate in June if we don't have a committed buyer.

Please email me: [email protected] or DM me if you'd like to see the past financials and current physical assets list.

Thank you for considering! And for your love of Skipper's!

Warmly,
Halle

Hi Skipper's community!

Thank you again for all the support you've shown Doug's family over the past month. We want Skipper's to reopen next season, but for that to happen, we might need your help. Our family is spread far and wide, so no one within our family will be able to keep Skipper's up and running. That's why we would like to sell the business. If you are interested, or you know someone who may be interested, please send us a message over Facebook or email me at [email protected].

I saw how special Skipper's was, albeit under awful circumstances, in October, and we don't want this business to close!

I'm happy to share more information with anyone interested. We are asking for $90,000, ideally as a cash sale or paid within a few installments over a short time frame, but we are very open to negotiation. Expenses are piling up, so we are trying to move quickly. Please reach out with interest by the end of this month. (November)

Thank you for all of your warmth, care and support! We gave the Monticello community a big shoutout at his funeral this past weekend in Maryland.

Warmly,
Halle Parker & the Parker Family

A huge thank you to the Monticello community for coming out to support our family on Sunday! It's difficult to describe how much the kindness, love and generosity means in a time like this. Truly humbling. Doug's wife, Cinthia, put it best today, you'd be hard-pressed to find a community as special and warm as Monticello anywhere else.

From the bottom to the top of our hearts, and everywhere in between, thank you. It was nice to stand in my dad's shoes and meet the people he was talking with each day.

With gratitude,
The Parker family

CLOSEOUT SALE ALERT! Want to visit Skipper's one last time before we close for the season?

Swing by Sunday, Oct. 5 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. to fill up your cup with frozen yogurt or soft serve and unlimited toppings for only $5! Or pick up sweet little frozen treat from our fridge for $1 or an optional donation to help my dad, Doug Parker's, wife, Cinthia, and his children pay for his funeral service. Cash preferred, but credit and Venmo will also be accepted.

Sadly, Doug passed away unexpectedly due to a heart attack this past week, so Skipper's will close, at least for now. The outpouring of love and support from this community has been incredibly touching and helps us know his memory will live on. It's difficult to express our gratitude in words, but thank you to everyone who has commented!

We would be honored to serve you our last frozen yogurt of the season, and meet some of the people who Doug was so excited serve and chat with! We'd love to honor his memory and the Skipper's legacy with you as we figure out what comes next.

Thank you again to the Monticello community for welcoming Doug & Cinthia Parker with open arms. They were ready to hug you right back!

With love,
Halle Parker

Hi Skipper's family!

As you may know, this beloved frozen yogurt shop had some new faces over the past couple months. Doug Parker and Cinthia Parker took over ownership of Skipper's this summer and got to work!

Tragically, my dad, Doug, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly this Tuesday due to a heart attack. He was thrilled to take on turning Skipper's into a year-round business. And even happier meeting the many kind people in Monticello, whether that was a family froyo visit or the recent car show. He was excited to keep Skipper's as a special place for the community to gather.

My dad was charismatic, smart, giving and kind. I'm sure many laughs were shared inside Skipper's and around town even in this short time. I know he hoped to make Monticello his landing place, to settle in.

This community welcomed Doug and Cinthia with open arms and for that, I am so grateful. Unfortunately, as our family figures out next steps, Skipper's will close for the season next week. We are planning a community event at Skipper's this weekend to help support his surviving family and close up shop. (For now)

Please stay tuned today for more details, we would love to see you there.

With love and a grieving heart,
Halle Parker

EDIT: Skipper's will be open one last time this season on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., or until supplies run out! We will be offering a $5 fill up (as much as you can fit in the cup with any toppings you want) and $1 frozen treats (or free with any donation).

All proceeds will go toward costs associated with his death. Stop by if you can, we would love to meet you! ❤️
