Happy Mother's Day.
Captured two swarms today, one was at a neighbor's house (thanks for the phone call) and when I was putting them in our yard I found a swarm in our own yard.
If you find a swarm, don't disturb them and contact a local bee keeper.

Well, I figured as soon as it got warm again we would see honey bees swarming. The good news is I was able to capture it...

Well, I figured as soon as it got warm again we would see honey bees swarming. The good news is I was able to capture it with the help of a neighbor that is going to give bees a go this year (this wasn't the lesson I was planning for the day). The bad news is that it is most likely from one of my hives that I didn't manage in time. Always an adventure.

It's been warm, it's been cold... The dandelions are blooming and there are a few honey bees out working (it is a bit chilly today). Please leave the dandelions for the bees, they are one of the first good flowers for the bees as they get going after winter.
