Each month, your Neighboring Food Co-op Association feature our region’s artisan cheesemakers by offering a specially selected cheese at great price.

This month’s Cave to Co-op cheese is Vermont Herdsman from Parish Hill Creamery, Westminster West, VT.

Milk: Raw cow milk

Age: 12+ months

Style: Firm, Alpine-style

Flavor: Full & slightly sharp, with sweet pineapple, toasted hazelnut & a savory, nutty finish. Texture becomes pleasantly granular with age.

Pairings: Roasted pears, Dried apricots, Tart cherry preserves, Walnut bread, Roasted hazelnuts, Wildflower honey, Celery root, Brown ale, Vermont cider

Cave to Co-op is a partnership between Provision International and the Neighboring Food Co-op Association (NFCA) to support local, artisanal cheese producers in our region and make their products more easily available to co-op shoppers.

Montpelier Roxbury Partners in Education is a group of parents and caregivers for the schools in the Montpelier Roxbury School District. They provide opportunities for enrichment, build community, and serve as a vehicle for information and advocacy for families, school staff, and the community.
