We are very excited to share that we have two does on the ADGA Elite List (top 5%) for milk production! Rockville Ridge v Luca (a first freshener) in the 96th percentile and Better Wayz Aphrodite in the 95th. Aphrodite has made the Elite list every year since 2023! Better Wayz Heaven (Val) and Rockville Ridge v Leia also had respectable scores of 91%. Couldn't come at a better time - during the hottest, most humid part of the Summer when milking twice a day is the last thing we want to do but hard work pays off! So proud of our girls. Thank you Kathy and Tara for the excellent genetics.

Barn addition complete. Will prime and paint after the wood dries. It looks like an Old West 🤠 jail, which is honestly why we built it ... to separate feuding goats. No plans for this, just figured it out as we went along. Also, a huge win - only one deck board and one conduit leftover!

First day the babies get to free range with the big girls (thanks to MUCH less humidity and heat FINALLY making it enjoyable to be outside supervising) and it's going great!

Barn addition progress is being made despite this awful, swampy heat and humidity. Doing a little every day. Opted to use pressure treated deck boards instead of the sheeting we've used on the other barns because with all the slopes and tree roots, this baby ain't anywhere close to square and my brain wouldn't be able to do all the math it would take to make a 4x8 sheet of siding line up. This way I can cut each board to the height I need in a smaller footprint. Used my new-to-me table saw for the first time too to rip some boards!

Latest milk test results from 6/22: Luca and Leia join Belle, Val, Aphrodite, and Izzy earning their milk stars! Luca reached it for all 3 categories (volume, butterfat and protein). Leia reached her butterfat requirement.

Another day, another project... Finished up hot wire electric fence on the goat pen and broke ground on the barn addition. Lots of supervisors on this project. Here they are taking their lunch break.

Restocking goat milk soap and trying a new one... Coffee soap with grounds and some fresh brewed coffee infused. We also have Unscented, Creamsicle, Coconut Cream, Tahitian Vanilla, Tea Tree Oil/ Peppermint, Ocean Breeze (floral), and Vanilla/Sandalwood. $6/ 4 oz bar scented, $5/4 oz bar unscented.
