We recently reached 600 followers on this page 🎉, and we just want to welcome our new followers and thank all of you for coming along on this gelato journey with us.
We’ve loved getting to know so many of you, and since some of you are new here, we thought we’d share a little about ourselves so you can get to know us better, too.
So, here are some random tidbits about Bubba and Sara, owners and operators of Gelato Jovi:
1️⃣ We are both originally from Bear Lake. Bubba grew up in Bern, and Sara grew up in Bennington and Montpelier. We lived in Paris and Ovid in our early years of marriage and are currently living in Montpelier.
2️⃣ Bubba’s real name is Brenden, a blend of his parents’ names (BRENt + DENice), but he is ubiquitously known as “Bubba.” Sara never got a cool nickname that stuck with her into adulthood, but “Sara” does mean “princess” or “royalty,” so get to bowing. 👑 😉
3️⃣ In addition to running the gelato business, we both work at other jobs. Bubba is an IT system administrator at our local hospital. Sara works as an online English teacher for Asian students. She also runs a tour business leading international trips for adventurous travelers.
4️⃣ Bubba hangs all of his clothes facing to the right. Sara hangs all of her clothes facing to the left. We don’t know why.
5️⃣ Our favorite show to watch together is the ‘90s sitcom The King of Queens. We feel like we ARE Doug and Carrie: the parallels between their life and ours are uncanny.
6️⃣ Bubba has a wild obsession with tractors. His favorite is the Ford 8N. Sara has a wild obsession with books. Her favorite is Moby-Dick.
7️⃣ Bubba is great at whistling but terrible at spelling. Sara is an excellent speller but can’t whistle to save her life.
8️⃣ We don’t have children of our own, but we love kids and still hold on to hope that one day we’ll get to be parents.
9️⃣ We are both HUGE Bon Jovi fans. (The band name has nothing to do with the name of our business, though.) On our first date, both of us were playing the same Bon Jovi album in our cars. It was clearly fate.
1️⃣0️⃣ Bubba’s top three gelato flavors: hazelnut, fior di latte, and raspberry. Sara’s top three: lemon, pistachio, and cheesecake.
