Western Slope Soil Health Conference

Western Slope Soil Health Conference Soil health is critical to the future of our agricultural production - in terms of water, productivity and economics. WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

This year, we have combined two great ag conferences into one event, now called the WESTERN COLORADO SOIL HEALTH, FOOD & FARM FORUM. You can expect the same great programming with regard to soil health in addition to expanded programing about broader agricultural topics. WHAT IS THE WESTERN COLORADO SOIL HEALTH CONFERENCE? It Begins with Soil Health!

Soil health is critical to the future of agri

cultural production on the Western Slope of Colorado. With a contingent of famers as well as community groups and government officials, the Western Slope has been able to take soil health education and implementation techniques and specifically adjust them for the local area. As pressure on agricultural production increases, soil health practices can ensure that agricultural needs are met with sustainable production, quality and economic viability. Soil Health Practices that have long term benefits.

Designed to educate producers, government officials, and the broad community about ways to increase organic matter in soil and the health of our soils through cover crops, green manure, grazing, compost, entomology, and other sustainable practices. These practices are showing long term benefits in improving quality and cost of production.

The healthier the soil, the more microorganisms it can support, along with greater diversity that helps cycle nutrients and support plant growth. In poor soils, both the number and variety of microorganisms drop, which weakens the soil system and reduces its ability to support healthy plants. 🪱🤎

Here’s what makes Shavano Activate special:
✅ Boosts soil biology – introduces beneficial microbes and fungi that rebuild soil structure.
✅ Improves nutrient uptake – living microbes help plants access more nutrients naturally.
✅ Cuts down fertilizer use – reduces reliance on chemical inputs while maintaining productivity.
✅ Supports carbon sequestration – helps capture and store carbon in the soil, improving sustainability.

All of these work together to increase soil structure, aggregation, infiltration, and water‑holding capacity. These biological changes help soil store more water, lose less to evaporation, and deliver moisture more effectively to plant roots.

Call today to find out pricing and schedule a Friday in April for pick up!
