May and June are so busy here on the farm, so let’s check out behind the scenes a bit:

1 - I listened to 11 audiobooks in May 😮
2 - Tea in the morning, decaf coffee in the afternoon ☕️
3 - Planting. Always. Daily. 🌱
4 - Mother’s Day tulips I forgot about in the cooler for 3 weeks and still looked amazing 🤩
5 - Lisianthus take FOREVER to grow out. These were started in January and planted in May
6 - A little greenhouse sunset ❤️

What should I listen to in June? 🎧 I love audiobooks and podcasts!

Another day, another project complete! Yesterday, we planted half our gladiolus corms for mid-late July blooms. We’ll sow the other half of our corms in about 3 weeks for a second succession!

We’ve heard SO many people mention how much they love glads, so we had to bring them back this year 😍

Yesterday was Dahlia Day here on the farm! We planted 992 tubers, which is more than triple how many we had last year. We cannot wait to see this year’s blooms 😍

On a related note, I still have about 50 tubers to find spots for. And you know I can’t leave the farm that close to 1,000 tubers without planting a few more! 😂

We have something special coming up this year for these dahlias. Any guesses what it is? 🧐

I’ve been hardening off these plants for days, and tomorrow is planting time! Today we’re direct-sowing sunflowers, zinnias, amaranth, marigolds, and more. Oh, and there are more plant starts in the seed-starting room 🫣

May is such a hopeful time on the farm, but it sure is a lot of work! Send coffee ☕️ 😅

This week’s bouquets are on the whimsical side of life and I am loving it 💕

White amaryllis + purple salvia + allium blossoms = 😍

I’m also loving these cooler temps. Don’t come for me, but 88 was a bit too hot for me this early in the season!

Something amazing happened at the flower stand today. Our ring camera caught two people TAKING A SELFIE with our flowers! Ladies, I don’t know who you are, but you made my heart so happy 🥰

The entire reason I pour myself into this flower farm is to bring others joy and love. I feel so honored that people not only come to support the farm, but love our flowers enough to take photos with them.

On another note, the stand is open this weekend! We’re adding stock throughout the day with lots of bright colors, sure to bring you joy. Treat yo self or treat your mom ❤️

Confession: I didn’t get my tulips planted in November like I wanted to. I was so focused on dahlias that I just didn’t get to it before the ground froze.

But it’s ok, with help from my husband and our trusty tractor, they still got planted with enough time to chill for spring (plus, they had already been chilling in the garage for weeks).

Just a gentle reminder that imperfect is still miles ahead of not trying at all. A farm will teach you that quickly!

P.S. This is what 3,500 tulips looks like 😍
