“Time is not refundable. Use it with intention.”

- Mari Parkinson

If you’ve seen my stories you know that I took a long weekend away from the farm this past weekend to visit my sister in North Carolina.

The build up to leaving was incredibly stressful. I tried to cram as much farming, teaching, kids, and housework into the week before. I was tired, over doing it, and spreading myself so thin for three days away.

While I was gone and I had a minute to focus without the pressures of everyday life on me. I remembered that I had set myself a word for 2026 - intentional.

This gave me pause to ask myself, am I really living intentionally right now? Or am I trying to do everything with not enough time and filling my to do list with busy, not well thought out needs.

Did I come home to dead seedlings- yup.
Did the peonies start to burst open- sure did.
Did the weeds grow 10 feet over 3 days- looks it to me.

Is everything still okay? Sure is.

So here’s to jumping back into my plan for 2026 and getting back into prioritizing those things I can and really do need to do and letting go of doing it all.

It’s gorgeous out there! I have lots of beautiful@flowers ready to go for jr. high graduation. I will be stocking the farm stand this weekend. You can also find me in Ogunquit at the museum of art from 3-5 on Sunday!!

Today I am packing up just under 500 blooms to send up Maine to celebrate Amy and Meredith as they get married. Their wedding has been on my mind for a year. May 30th is that window for flower farmers where it’s either feast or famine.

Luckily some early blooms were late and later blooms some came early. Still I popped up to the and snagged these bright, gorgeous beauties.

I’m so excited to see what these brides do with all these blooms!

Let’s do some science experiments!!!

This year I’m experimenting with sheep wool as mulch in the garden beds. So far I have mulched half my eucalyptus bed with wool half without. Today I planted my eggplant- again half with wool half without.

Eucalyptus is outside. Eggplant is in a hoop.

I can’t wait to see the results.

Thanks for the wool!!!

Holy crap it’s already Memorial Day weekend!!!

May is the most intense month and it literally flies by. I have been busy planting, and trying to keep things alive in the sweltering heat. Luckily it’s cooled down a bit and so I got to focus a bit on other parts of the farm today.

My popcorn viburnum looks so amazing this year.

What’s looking really good in your yard?
