Riley’s Ranch grass-fed, grass-finished Beef Neck bone recipe ideas:

Our meaty beef neck bones are one of the most flavorful cuts, and the best cooking method is low and slow until the meat is fork-tender. Neck bones yield a nutrient dense broth, rich with collagen, minerals, vitamins, gelatin, and amino acids that can reduce inflammation and promote good health.

Option 1: Braise in the oven
1. Season neck bones generously with salt and pepper.
2. Brown them on all sides in a Dutch oven with a little beef tallow or oil.
3. Remove the meat and sauté:
• 1 onion
• 2 carrots
• 2 celery stalks
• 4 cloves garlic
4. Add:
• 2–3 cups beef broth
• 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional)
• Fresh thyme and rosemary
• 2 bay leaves
5. Return the neck bones to the pot.
6. Cover and cook at 300°F (150°C) for 3½–4½ hours, until the meat falls off the bone.

Option 2: Slow cooker
Brown the neck bones in olive oil first for better flavor and transfer to crock pot.
Follow steps 3 and 4 and add to pot.
Cook on Low: 8–10 hours
Mix 2 tablespoons of flour with water to create a slurry. Stir it into the stew during the last 30 minutes of cooking for a thicker stew.

Option 3: Pressure cooker
• Brown the meat.
• Add broth and aromatics.
• Cook at high pressure for 60–75 minutes, then allow a natural pressure release for about 15–20 minutes.

Serving ideas
• Over mashed potatoes
• With buttered egg noodles
• Over creamy polenta or grits
• With roasted root vegetables
• Shred the meat into the broth for a hearty soup.
