KALE.

I know I know… not everyone’s cup of tea. But we LOVE it around here. We grow a few varieties and have a special purpose for each of them. We find red Russian kale to be great for kale chips, black magic and winterbor kale are perfect for smoothies, salads and mixing in with all of your other veggies.

These plants are cold hardy and can be started very early in the spring and also be grown through the season into the fall which makes it one of our longest growing crops. You may have to fight the cabbage worms for them, but they can almost always be saved.

As you plan your garden this year, add a few! You might be surprised at how much you love them. ❤️

Don’t let it intimidate you! The best place to start is deciding WHAT you want to grow. What foods does your family eat? What’s something that you would prefer to eat fresh?

For us greens is an easy one. We go through a package of salad greens a week. So why not just grow it yourself?! Or maybe you’re more of a potato family. But make a PLAN!
