What Does This Water Test Show?
You've probably seen demonstrations like this before—but what are you actually looking at?
This type of test uses an electrical current to highlight differences in the dissolved substances found in water. When electricity passes through the water, minerals and other dissolved solids can react with the electrodes, causing visible color changes.
A few things to keep in mind:
- The color change does not automatically mean water is "dirty."
- It does show that different water sources contain different amounts and types of dissolved substances.
- Water quality is best evaluated using a combination of filtration information, water testing, and understanding what's in your water source.
At WaterTree, we believe informed choices are the best choices. That's why we're always happy to answer questions about water quality, filtration, and what makes our water different.
