Would you even believe me if I said there’s absolutely no filter on this photo? A friend called these flowers “fireballs” yesterday 😂 and honestly? Accurate. And the flowers are reflecting the weather right now, amiright 🔥 🔥 🔥

I think God must’ve had a grand old time designing each flower. All the different shapes, colors, smells, and seasons must have brought him great joy. What a comfort it is, thinking about how He created it all simply because he wanted me to experience this joy with Him. He created my eyes, my nose, my hands to be able to experience flowers with all five of my senses, and feel wonder.

Sometimes I’m just really proud of what I can create 🥲 that’s okay to say, right? I think sometimes women are taught to shy away from anything that might seem like bragging. But hey, a little well-placed confidence never hurt anybody. I’m looking at my bouquets thinking, “wow. I did that!” Four more weeks of these beauties!

Celosia was my gateway drug to growing seasonal cut flowers. I saw them in a book and I distinctly remember thinking, “what is THAT?” With hearts in my eyes 😍 now, 7 years later, it’s hands down my favorite summer flower. Truly trumps everything else for its durability, unique shape, and variety of colors. GIMME ALL THE CELOSIA

I think the best part of today’s flowers is how long they will last! All of the flowers are known for being as tough as nails, and look just as good dried as they do fresh. I’m obsessed! Eucalyptus, cockscomb, plumbed Socia, Marigold’s, strawflower 🤩🤩

When I see colors like this on my camera roll, all combobboled together, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I didn’t know why that was, I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I grew it myself—it comes with a sense of pride.

But I googled if seeing a bunch of colors all together is supposed to do “something” to your brain, and it turns out, it does!

When our brains try and take in a bunch of beautiful color all at once, dopamine (pleasure, excitement) is released, followed closely by serotonin (calm, content) to the point where our brain stops thinking about everything else going on.

How cool is that?! So grateful to live in a world filled with so much color ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
