Monday is not a day to turn a blind eye to.
A surge of warm, moist, and unstable air is expected to move north into our region ahead of a powerful cold front. This setup has the potential to bring strong to severe thunderstorms, including damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, hail, and possibly a few tornadoes.
One thing that really stands out is the **Storm Prediction Center placing our area under a Level 3 out of 5 risk this far in advance. That doesn’t happen often and should be enough to get everyone’s attention.
Now, can the forecast change? Absolutely. It likely will evolve over the next couple of days as the details become clearer. But right now, the window for storms appears to begin after midnight Sunday night and continue through Monday afternoon into the early evening.
Now is the time to prepare.
