Well folks August is leaving us...with a big dose of July heat! Therefore this old farmeress won't be sitting up at the farmers market in Mooresville on Tuesday. The heat will be too much for me.

My 10 minutes in the morning sun and a dye lesson. Im a very feral dyer, don't weigh or measure and top off my dyepots with whatever...I like a full pot. This bit of roving didn't dye particularly well and I had it in the basket to try again. Hooking the highlights in this pumpkin I wasn't happy with the yarn look, although I love warty pumpkins. I grabbed this bit of roving and yes, it's what I needed. What did I learn??, let the Dye Fairies do their magic and just enjoy...

Even though August is hanging on 2 more days, the night symphony and early morcalls have changed the light is different, signally a season change!
Tis time to refresh your environment in your castle...new rushes, ok maybe a new handwoven rug on the floor, new bits of decor and a lovely wool pillow!

Channeling the changing season. .working my way thru the early summer shear of my angora goats...Butterfly, Cookie and Gumdrop...2 fleeces dyed yesterday. Will finish the last one today. I just love vibrant fall colors..
If it's all dry it will be for sale in the Wool Shed Friday thru Sunday 12 to 4. Along with awesome fall themed wool goods...
