Located on three acres in the northwest corner of the historic village of Mooresville, AL (pop. 58), 1818 Farms is named for the year Mooresville was incorporated, one year before Alabama became a state. Owners Laurence and Natasha McCrary returned to his c.1826 family home in Mooresville in 2005 to be near family and to raise their children in the peaceful little town where his family has lived f

or seven generations. Cotton fields and the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge border Mooresville, located one-quarter mile south of Exit 2 on I-565 between Huntsville and Decatur, AL. The happy animal residents on this farm include Babydoll Southdown sheep, a Nubian goat, kittens, hens, a pot-bellied pig, mini pigs, and two Great Pyrenees guardian dogs. In an adjacent field, lavender and other herbs are grown for the fragrances in hand-made soaps/crèmes and for wreaths and bouquets. Parties of all types are hosted in our garden and adjacent “Garden House.” From children’s birthday parties to private supper clubs and garden club gatherings to “Farm to Table” dinners hosted by some of the area’s top chefs. The Garden House is also home to a series of classes including: raised bed gardening, food preservation, wool spinning, raising backyard chickens and knitting.

1818 Farms’ line of bath and beauty products use some of the farms’ lavender and herbs as well as feature some of the more popular animals on the labels. From “Farrah Fawcett” and her Bath Tea, “Clover” and her lip smack, to “Sweet Pea” and her scented shea crème. These products are all handmade and only include all-natural ingredients. Our products are now available in spas and stores throughout the United States.

Join us this Saturday, June 20th, for our Summer Open Farm & Luffa Day! 🌿

These event days are some of our favorites because we get to welcome you to the farm and share a behind-the-scenes look at what we do each day. We will also have the drying room open for walk throughs and a lesson on the sheep's wool!

After your visit, stop by The Cottage for shopping and take home a little piece of 1818 Farms. We can't wait to spend the day with you!

Admission is free, but be sure to reserve your ticket through the link beloq. We hope to see you there! 🐑 🌸

Mark your Calendars! 🗓️

The Summer Open Farm & Luffa Day at 1818 Farms is Saturday, June 20th! I can't believe this fun event is only two weeks away.

We will start this exciting day off with a Luffa Lesson. During the lesson, you will learn how to grow, harvest, and process your own luffas at home. Discover how this fascinating gourd transforms from a vine-grown plant into a natural sponge and the many perfect uses for any of life's daily activities, whether in your kitchen sink or your bath.

After this, you can take a peak inside of our Drying Room where all the magic happens. This room houses all the flowers we cut and hang to dry. You can also learn about how we incorporate our sheep's wool into our products and into the daily life on the farm. Since we are a no waste farm, preserving the flowers and using the wool are extremely important topics for us!

While you are visiting, take some time to stroll through our summer flower garden in its early-season glory and also stop by "The Cottage" on your way out for all of your gifting needs! Don't forget to reserve your free ticket with the link below. We can't wait to have everyone at the farm and hope to see you soon! 🐑 🌸
