We are a small farm in Moorpark, CA. We grow three varieties of avocados in our orchard - Hass, Lamb Hass & GEM.

We have roughly 1000 trees of each variety, along with 600 Tango mandarins. We sell our avocados seasonally, direct to our customers.

➡️ Hass avocados are the gold standard for avocados eaten globally! Hass is distinguished by its rich, buttery flavor and thick, pebbly skin that turns black when ripe. The fruit also has a relatively small seed, which means it delivers a large percentage of flesh that makes it easier to peel and scoop.

🤩 Fun Fact! Hass is pronounced as it is spelled H-A-S-S, and rhymes with class. Hass is often misspelled, and mispronounced as Haas, however the fruit was named after Rudolph Hass, a California postman who patented the original Hass tree in 1935 in La Habra Heights, California. The Hass variety now accounts for about 80% of the avocados eaten globally!

➡️ Tango mandarins are a fantastic, medium-sized, seedless fruit that is bursting with flavor. Tango mandarins are exceptionally juicy and easy to peel, averaging about 2.3” in diameter. Tangos have a delicious sweetness combined with mild sour undertones. Tangos are excellent for eating as a snack as well as for juicing or making jam and marmalade. The rind is rich with citrus oil and aromatic when pierced or muddled, making them perfect for mandarin margaritas and mojitos.

Use this oil for cooking or finishing. Mild nutty flavor with a rich avocado green color. This oil has a high smoke point (450 F) and is safe for cooking.

Hi farm friends! It’s been a minute! I’m happy to report, after a cold and wet spring which left bees mostly in their boxes, that we do have a wonderful crop coming from all three varieties of avocados and also our Tango mandarins.

In case you’re like us, chomping at the bit for California avocados, stay tuned!! We plan to start shipping our fruit soon!!

🥑Lamb Hass avocados available this week only!!🥑

Our Lamb Hass avocados are ready to pick!! We are picking these trees tomorrow, June 20th, and this week we have a limited number of farm boxes available, both Lamb Hass and B boxes.

Similar to Hass, Lamb Hass are an excellent tasting avocado that features a thick, pebbly skin that turns black when ripe. Lamb Hass is actually a cross between the traditional Hass Avocado and a Gwen (Dwarf) Avocado. Lambs are popular in the food service industry due to their large size, small pit and the fact that they're easy to peel. More fruit with less prep time!

B boxes are plain Kraft boxes containing six mildly blemished avocados. With small external marks, these avocados may not look perfect, but they are just fine on the inside. Blemishes are caused by branches touching or rubbing on the fruit as it grows on the trees. Avocados in this box will also be Lamb Hass. Avocados are the same large size as our A boxes, they just have some cosmetic imperfections.

We have had so many inquiries as to when our farm boxes will be available, and for this we apologize on the slow launch of our 2023 fruit. We had a very busy winter and spring, with over 30 inches of rain, and only now do we finally have a limited number of farm boxes available.

Orders placed by the weekend will begin shipping Monday, April 24th.

We currently have Gem, avocado challenge boxes (Hass and Gem), B boxes, and our brand new Farm Bags (local pick up only/or drop off to Fox Canyon Farm).

Gems have a fantastically rich and nutty flavor, and a dark, pebbly skin when ripe. We repeatedly heard last year from customers that the Gem avocado was hands down the best avocado they'd ever had! Want to put them to the test? Order a variety box with three Hass and three Gems and let us know what you think!

My favorite structure…

“Diesel’s Closet” is the first structure we built for the equestrian side of our property.

It turned out so beautiful, and rustic, overlooking the arena, and some of the pastures.

It may forever remain my favorite structure.

Picking day 🥑💪💚

Yesterday was picking day for our Hass avocados at Carronada Farms!

The Hass avocado is a California native. It accounts for 95% of total crop volume of avocados in the US.

It’s rich, buttery flavor makes it a consumer favorite and it’s known for it’s thick, pebbly skin that turns black when ripe.

Fun fact:
It was first discovered in the mid-1920s by Rudolph Hass. In fact, every Hass avocado in the world can trace its roots back to the original Hass tree in La Habra Heights, California.
