Suncatcher Farm is an extension of our homestead, 15 beautiful acres in Moravian Falls, NC where we utilize holistic stewardship practices to restore the land. We harness the amazing power of the sun to transform the landscape via the workings of plants, livestock, wildlife, fungi, and people. We aim to foster a bountiful ecosystem through active participation rather than hands-off preservation. W

e are committed to producing food with integrity and want to invite you to share in regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices by choosing to support us, our animals, and the land. Simply put, this is our home, and we hope to share some of it with you! We offer:

One day I will get into all the ins and outs but for now, it just wasn't working for our farm. We didn't have the labor, the infrastructure, or all of the right cows.

We were constantly late to separating calves, had calves bust through fences to get back to mom, or mom not let down her milk for us because she was holding back for her calf.

That left frustrated farmers and clients with less milk. It wasn't ideal. We decided we would either stop producing dairy or try bottle feeding.

I never thought I would even contemplate that choice. But guess what? It has worked. SO well.

Our business has grown, Jesse and I are at peace, and cows and calves are happy. If you don't believe me, come visit. Let's chat and walk the pastures. We believe in transparency, especially when it comes to your food.

We are all about maximizing garden space and planting as many different plants as we can in one bed. We also plant plants much closer together than what any seed packet recommends. We always seem to have abundance and the soil, animals, and community get fed with anything we don't consume!

Hogs are pretty contented creatures but they definitely thrive in the woods, especially during the summer months when they need the shade to stay cool!

Do you know where your pork comes from? If not, it's one of the first meats I would look into swapping out and buying from a local farmer. Our fall hogs are woodland raised and fed organic & soy-free feed. In addition to their feed and whatever they forage for, they get lots of veggie scraps and the occasional treat of milk when we find ourselves with surplus!

Bluebell, our best cow on the farm, is a week over her due date. We are all waiting patiently for the arrival of her calf and are hopeful that it's a female. We've never gotten a heifer from her and are keeping our fingers crossed. All our calves names this year are animal themed (can you tell we have toddlers 😆). The name has to start with the same letter as their dam. So far Beatle is our top choice, male or female. But, we are open to suggestions if anyone has a better one!

The two cows standing inside the fence are due with their calves this week! They have been greeting me at the milk parlor along with the other dairy queens every morning for a few days now. They are ready to be milked and I know our customers are ready for some grass-fed A2/A2 RAW milk! Sold as pet milk per NC law.

Well, we made it through a second chicken processing day and the only photo I have is of Jesse cleaning the trailer unit. Oh well! Busy day.

Grateful for the chicken going into our freezers and the community trusting us to get the chicken they are putting in their freezers!

Only about 20 chickens left this processing, so get them while they last!
